the 1999-2002 lightning had three threads for the spark plug as a result they were subject to spitting a spark plug as well as there was an intercooler recall for the 1999- the 2001 (I think it stopped at 2001 ?) there is a lot of info avaible, google nloc ( National lightning owners club)

the 2003 and 2004 have 370 rear gears instead of the 355.
the intercooler is changed and better the trucks make 30 more hp.
the 04 has the locking spare tire set up.
