Hey fellas,
I'm new at this so be gentle. First off, great site, loads of helpful info and great trucks. I must first apologize, I am a Dodge Dakota owner, no retarded/toy here just a regular workhorse. I am desperatly trying to get financing so I can go down and get a lightning but my credit isn't great so I'll have to keep dreamin'. Anyway I just got on and saw some of the nonsense that Rollin-Tundra or whatever his name is was spewing and here is what I just checked on Toyota says that the Tundra 4.7L get 245hp stock and if you and Rollin's 100 whoping ponies to that you still come up what almost 50 short. HA HA HA. Hey rollin if these guys wanted a 4X4 they would have bought one but that isn't what the L is all about its about straight smokin' jokes like you on and for the most part off the 1/4 mile. I know your just jokin but come on a fast Toyota, Thanks I needed a good laugh. And all of you intelligent L and F-150 owners out there sorry for making this long but keep up the good work and Friends don't let friends drive TOYS. And the name is supposed to be Lightning in the wings but I screwed up and need to get it fixed, Oh well.

Hey Rollin,

If a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his a$$ since we are doing the "what if" thing.

Welcome to the boards, Lightning in the Wings, it is a great site. I'm not even a Lightning owner, but I will be very soon, except I am going to buy my Lightning to run with Corvettes and other vehicles that are worthy of running them against. If I was trying to beat a Tundra, I wouldn't spend money on a Lightning, that would just be overkill. My Lariat will beat a Tundra, and it's just got a 4.6. BTW, when did Toyota get to be one of the big (3), or did I miss the week that we kicked Dodge out?

Wish List: Lund Racer Back Cab Spolier, Lund Shadow Winshield Wiper Cover, Lund Steps, RhinoLiner Spray-In Bedliner, Vortech Super Charger, Brush Guard, Hidden Winch, Lighted Ford Logo, I'll list more when I think of it...

Pickup Man,
Thank You for the welcome. Like I said, I own a 1998 Dodge Dakota with the 5.2L V8. I have added stuff like underdrive pulleys, the gotta have it K&N FIPK, Jet chip, JBA headers, and 3" Flowmaster exhaust. I have raced I don't know how many toyota trucks in my truck and even though its not a Ford 9 times out of 10 they're looking at AMERICAN taillights as I crush there little sissy toys like the little turds that the are. Anyway my little brother just bought a 97 F150 and he has toasted some silly little boys and there toys and he also has the 4.6L bone stock. I really want him to add some goodies but he is more worried about the looks than the motivation. And you aren't kidding when did the Tundra which is only slightly larger than my Dakota knock Dodge off of the list. And by the way where is Big stone gap, VA in relation to bristow or bristol VA, the one closer to D.C. not Tennessee, I can't remember which one? My brother and I are going to be out that way in August to visit our dad. And as far as the L being overkill against a Tundra, the Tundra needs to be killed as much as humanly possible and then some. Anyway thanks again fo the welcome.

ROLLIN-TUNDRA

You are beginning to smell like a troll.... We dont tolerate trolls here very long. I will be back after the BB upgrade to see if the stench remains. If so the appropriate action will be taken....

How cool is it to run around with a "TRD" sticker on your windshield? Where I come from it would be short for "t*rd" small droppings usually found on the ground in the woods. Good logo for a toyota.

Lightning in the Wings, it is near Bristol Motor Speedway, about 35 miles from it. Bristow is on the other side of the state, I am in the southwestern tip of Virginia. Back in the sticks!

You said toyotas arnt made to go fast????, well jeez thats a very smart reply. Have you ever heard of a toyota supra ?

now that we have that cleared out of the way, i love ford lightnings but my parents bought me a tundra and i will be purcshaing the trd supercharger when it comes out. this is nonsense to be arguring over this now , the damn supercharger isnt even out yet. Lets save it for the track guys !

I have talked to some of the reps at the TRD headquarters, they said their main goal with the supercharger for the tundra is to compete with the ford lightning.

And ford isnt very concerend about being the number 1 fastest any ways, just look, mustangs get stomped by cameros all the time, ford could make it faster but why ? the mustang will still sell being slower than cameros , the same thing with the lightning, if the tundra is faster, ford wont bother trying to compete with the SC Tundra because the lightning will still sell to consumers.

Please no FLAMES, intelligent replys only,
TuNDrA RAwKUs !!

Red face

Yeah and the R/T boys are still tryin to play catch up too. The Tundra WILL NOT be able to compete with the Lightning toe to toe with just a supercharger. It isnt going to happen. Slap Just a blower on an R/T and they cant beat stock Lightnings. Remember Richard it is gonna take you more than just a blower to compete.

Thumbs down

Hey rollin turd boy, last time I checked toyota headquarters was in Japan. Tundras were designed in japan. Its great that they do assemble the Japanese parts in the U.S.A., but all of the profits go to Japan. The Toyota Tundra is a japans vehicle, by your way of thinking the lightnings are Canadian, and dodges are Mexican trucks??? where is old silver when you need him? The Lightning is a lot more than just straight line acceleration also, there is no way a turdna will compete overall, also the toyota quality has taken a dive in the last few years, so you have nothing on us rollin in the turds boy!
