Just curious - why are you specifically targeting 12.7xx times?

Welcome to the board. You'll enjoy it.

To answer your question, alot. Mostly money, you can go as fast as your wallet is thick.

Things that come to mind are:
chip, complete exhuast, ram air, electric fan, lower blower pulley, nitrous, remove some weight (like spare tire and tow hitch if you never use it), probably traction bars, and look at others signatures for more ideas

Properly tuned chip, filter, lower pulley should get you there. More important will be you launch. The street tires are hard to hook up.

I feel a 12.xx coming on.

Thanks Spiro...youll be receiving a call very soon. But i was shooting for 12.7 as there are a couple low low 13sec r/t's round here that i see up at the track and i really dont want to get shown up by one cause ill never hear the end of it from the dodge boys...also my goal is to have a mid-high 12 second STREET truck. Ive see peoples setups with chip/filter/pulley and they were running low 13's and once in a while i would see a high 12 with that setup. I know nos would do it but i would like to hit at least a 12.7 or better before strappin it on. But thanks for everyones help!

12's are totally possible, and especially in the fall. For example we will use my truck since I really dont have that many Mods to it.

I have:

-JL RAM-AIR
-PSP AIR-Kit
-PSP Lower pulley
-JL Power Cooler
-PSP 4-way chip
-Level 10 shift kit
-3.73 gears
-BASSANI CAT PIPES CAT BACK (no power gain)

With those mods, and not on the nitrous,at 4700 lbs. with air in the 70-mid 80's and a 60' between 1.72-1.85 I easily run into the 12.50-12.80 range. And get me in Fall Cecil County Air...Lookout...thats where my 12.30's come to play on motor alone.

I know others run convertors and other exotic stuff, but I do very well with what I have done. Just some good programming is all you need...IMO of course.

Question

Hey Spiro,

What is your opinion of an average gain in good cool fall air as opposed to hot summer air? In relation to et and mph

Thanks!

Totaled,
You can expect to pick up 1 tenth for every 10 degrees cooler is what i have found on my truck! You should be running 12.30's to 12.40's this fall with the same setup you have now when the air is better!Great times!!

Thanks Matt!!

I always wondered how to determine how much the temperature affected times.

Now if I can find some 20 degree weather

BTW - Great times and BIG MPH for you also!!!

Totaled,

I would agree with my buddy Matt on the ratio Let me ask you this, What kind of gains did you see with the convertor? If you did all at once, what do you think your getting from the convertor?

Here's a cool burnout PIC that is on the way to me from the WFC

The way the the mirrors are flipped on the burn-out pictures above, it looks like a pit bull with its ears back getting ready to latch on to something. I love it Sals post kinda got me thinking about dogs, sorry. Now I miss my (deciest) dog "Dollar"

Spiro,

I had the electric fan and converter installed at the same time so I think I have a good idea what the converter gave me. My best 60' ever before the converter (with slicks) was a 1.87. After the converter I am now at a best 1.73 , so I guess about a 1.5 tenths. Over the past weekend I could stay between 1.73 and 1.76 if I was trying for a good 60' With a little more practice I am hoping for some 1.6's Your 60's without a converter have always amazed me!!
BTW - nice burnout
