Enuff with the names calling plz!
Guys has anyone here noticed how Japeness cars are called Japs or ricers? Have you any idea how ignorant that is, and racsist! To some it may be a abrivation but for some it is a slap in the face. It is a Honda or a Mazda or what ever man. I realy hate to bitch on this cool web site wich I have enjoyed for a while now but I figuerd Ill put this up and maybe 1 guy will relize what im saying. Just show some respect plz!

I am not an expert but I think the meaning of "ricer" has evolved. I think it started out as a reference to asian manufactured cars, but in the most recent it has been carried over to anything that has been modded to complete exaggeration. I have heard many people refer to S10s, cavaliers, escorts or any other small, american made car as a "ricer" if it is as described as above. I am guilty of this as well. When I use this term, I am only intending to disrespect the idiot that made his ride look so stupid. When I was in Cleveland a few weeks back, I saw a new black ford explorer with all the badges replaced with mercedes badges. On the tailgate it said "Kompressor." I turned to the lady that was walking with me and I said "Look and that stupid idiotic mother*******ing ricer with all that mercedes crap all over it. She had no idea what I was talking about and I explained it to her. I wish I had a camera with me cause I really wanted to post that picture on this site. I don't think most people mean to disrespect the asian race, I know I don't anyway. Right or wrong, I just have become used to it as a modern label. I totally hear what you are saying and I don't want to down play your point but I don't think it is totally meant the way you think it is. However, I have been wrong before

actually i felt that way too. that it was racist. however on nbc nightly news tonight they did a whole thing on street racing and the cars that they referred to as ricers. so i guess it is moving into the realm of definition rather than racist.

Are you seriously getting pissed about something so stupid! Do we get pissed when people make fun of our fords and there little sayings. YES!, but we don't take it personally and think there bashing the whole entire american society, NO!
