I think the term 'ricer' is an abbreviation of 'rice burner', which has been used to describe Japanese motorcycles and cars for at least 30 years. If they are all busted up over this in Japan, it hasn't made the papers yet.

Like 99.99999% of the world's population, any offense caused by the misuse of the word 'ricer' just doesn't make it onto my personal radar screen. Guess I've just been selfishly worrying about 1,000,000 more important things.
