Post Am I missing something here (lowering ???'s)

Went to Bell Tech site, downloaded the application .pdf file and found the following info:

Front coil springs (2" drop) - Part# 4804
Rear Shackles (2" drop) - Part# 6400
Front 2" drop shocks - Part# 7022
Rear 2" drop shocks - Part# 7537

Went to Summit and got the following prices:
4804 - $139.95
6400 - $64.95
7022 - $36.95 each
7537 - $36.95 each

Grand total of $352.70. That's it?!? BTW, can the Bilsteins on my L be used instead of using the Nitro shocks? If so, I can drop it for ~$210. What am I missing here? Bumpstops?

Hotchkis 1" drop springs (part#1915F) Summit's price = $158.69

Hotchkis 2" drop rear springs (part#2412)
Summit's price = $281.99

check out:
http://dontblameme.virtualave.net/lo.../lowering.html

Let me know if you find that usefull.

Stock shocks can be used on a 2" rear/1" front drops.

Also since our L's are already lowered you will only get a " out of the springs in the front.

Belltech is shackles, Hotchkis is springs, Hotchkis is supposed to lower and increase performance.

I don't know how drop shackles compare to the springs in performance. Can any of you drop guru's comment on that?

I said the same thing when I ordered mine. I figuerd it would be way more but its not. I also kept the stock shocks. Looks cool, handles nice and the garage said easiest lowering kit around to install(bell tech).

If you do the Belltech shackles, save yourself a few bucks and order them from Mark at LightningForce. Got mine for $55 shipped. As Bob and Doug McKenzie say, "$10 is $10".

L-MATT:
...spindles for the front?

If they made them, I'd buy them. No problems with bump steer.

CornerCarver:
Call Hotchkis regarding the part #'s. They developed the suspension kit for the f150 and the Lightning, but the Lightning uses different rear springs than the f150's. See http://nloc.org/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001663.html for more info.

Question

All the numbers are Lightning specific per each manufacturer. I'm looking at a 2/2 drop max. Most likely the 1/2 drop. I like the subtle changes. Alot of subtle changes make a HUGE difference.

Now what's this about cam adjusters?

Corner:

They are needed to re-allign the L after the new coil springs are installed.

With Bell Tech kit you might have to C-section the rear frame on both sides because you will probably bottom out over bumps and pot holes! DJY

Ok lets see a pic of a 1/2 drop. Who makes the best coils for a 1" drop? eibach, hotchkis, belltech? Can the Hotchkis coils be used with shackels in the back.
