Post X plan ?

Looked at a silver 2001 lightning at a dealer fairly close to me who'll except the X plan, They took all my trade info but I had to leave for a meeting before we could start bargaining, going back Sat, They did ask me if I had a friend who worked for Ford and if
I had a pin #. I do have a pin #, but I don't have a friend who works at Ford, will they ask for his name? and if they do are there any members here who work for Ford who I can say is my friend, I'm sure we're all friends

Traditionally X plans were only available to Friends of Employees and Suppliers. Not quite A plan but better than most people could get on thier own. Today X plans are available to special groups or for working with companies that have worked out a deal with Ford. Most dealers are clueless and think they only come from Ford Employees. All the dealer needs is the pin anything else is just for their curiosity.

You can just tell them you are a member of the eaa (experimental aircraft association). Any member of the eaa can get a pin # for the x plan.

Paul is right.
I just picked-up my red 2001L under X-Plan and all they asked for was my name, pin # and Social Security, which they verified through Ford's database.
However, they didn't ask who I worked for or where I got my pin #.

Go for it and good luck!
p.s. Since they gave me X-Plan they said they could not work with me on my trade-in and they offered me $4K less than what my trade-in was worth.
I just bought the L and kept my old truck because I am selling it on my own...
