Post Nub has been Zapped...

If any of you are keeping up with the lower pulley thread you will know all about the nub on the blower belt tensioner. I originally bought a little longer belt but I still had the idle rattle with the new lower pulley. Today I remover the IC coolant tank and looked at the tensioner. You could see the small aluminum nub on the tensioner where it limits the travel of the arm. Mine had been hitting. I released the tension on the belt and removed the 3 screws(10mm) that hold the tensioner to the block. I took my dremel and cut the nub off. Put the tensioner back on and there is much more stock travel now. I also put the stock belt back on with no problem. I really did not need the longer belt but now I have an exta I guess. One item of note was that one of the IC coolant lines was running directly in front of the tensioner when I went to pull it. I thought this routing was abit odd since it was rubbing on the tensioner arm every time the arm moved. Well low and behold Ford had the hoses routed incorrectly from the factory. I drained the coolant and pulled the bottom hose off of the tank and re-routed the hoses like they should have been from day one. Now there is no hose that comes close to the tensioner arm. This was a build f*c*up if you ask me. When you look at the front of your blower tensioner you should NOT see a hose laying on the arm...if you do then yours is routed incorrectly also. I also think most of the noise that people are hearing with the lower pulley was always there but now you hear it because the big rubber isolator on the stock pully is gone...
