Question Gas cap holder?

I'm really annoyed that my truck doesn't have a holder for the gas cap! Has anyone fashioned any kind of a gas cap holder for their trucks? Maybe one for another vehicle could be attached to the current door? Any ideas?

You have to get gas?

I have a plastic ring that holds mine onto the filler.

The wife's Rodeo has a U-shaped holder that is part of the flip-out door that holds the gas cap when fueling. I don't like to let the gas cap touch my paint when fueling; so I have been holding the cap while I fill-up to prevent this. I'm just looking for an alternative.

My solution was to remove the cap from the strap, this way it never touches the paint.. No scratches on my truck...

Magnet's

glue a magnet to the back of the cap and when your filling the truck, stick the cap the the filler door. just an idea, I might just try that now!

If I had my camera working, (broke it playing pool) I would post a picture showing what I do. I think its touched the side of my truck twice.

I open the gas cap door all the way, undo the cap insert the gas nozzle, and place the cap against the nozzle, and then close the gas cap door. The spring on the door is strong enough to hold the cap there while it pumps.

I might get it working today, we shall see.

Cool

I installed the one from Camping world when mine was new. Works great. Only 5 bucks too. If you have the fastest color, you don't even have to paint it!
