Question On the subject of modified suspensions...

I was showing my friend Ruslow's modified suspension when he whipped out this photo:

(he's a big Rx-7 guy, owns a red 93 R1)

I was wondering, just what does this do for the suspension? I've never seen anything like it.

These are very common in all forms of racing that traction is the primary issue. Indy cars, roadrace cars, off road racing and motorcycles to name a few. In drag racing strength is a bigger issue than traction.

It's a coil-over suspension that simply moves the coil-over into the cabin. Actually it's a pretty trick idea. You don't have to climb under the car to adjust ride heieght, etc. Pretty neat.
