Post How did YOU break in your lightning?

I don't have a lightning yet, but I was wondering how everybody broke in their lightning. I know that you are supposed to take it easy the first 500 miles of new truck.. but that has to be hard to do with a ligtning. I know that I probably won't be able to keep my foot off of the floor.
Also, how does your lighning run now, after the break in period? I was just wondering if not treating the truck gently during the break in period has adverse effects.

I considered my '01 broke in after 500 miles. I now have about 650 on mine. Yep that's less than 2 weeks of owning it now

I drove it normally, on the interstate, around town, etc. I punched it maybe 5 whole times for less than 5 to 10 seconds at a time during those miles.

I wouldn't feel bad at all running it wide open now. I probably will wait another 500 (or until 1,000 - when I will change my oil for the first time over to synthetic).

I towed a trailer for the first 1200 miles.

4200 miles and I've yet to find my first victim. LOL

I drove it just like I would drive everyday. Sometime hit the pedal, sometimes not.

With our Trucks, there really is no break-in, some have had a dozen or so passes after the first 100 mi, you MAY want to wait till about 1000 or so until you mod it though!
Guys......

I romped on it as I left the dealership. Engine replaced at 14K! (doubtful it was from lack of break in)

I followed the recommended break-in the Saleen required on my S281SC. It seemed logical and Saleen can void your warranty if they can prove you did not follow that procedure.

Sidewayz outta the dealership and found a back road on the way home for a Big 'Ole smoky holeshot! Had it at the strip at 700 miles. Ran 3 times. Best 13.70 @ 99.8. Now it has 12,500 miles on it and zero problems so far. Today it was about 85 degrees and real humid. I got caught at a red light on the way home from work. When it went green I put my foot through the radiator and smoked 'em right into 2nd gear. Then it hooked and fell on its face. Truck runs real good. My only mods are an open K&N filter and a couple of Magnaflow mufflers.
