Hey Rob,

They look real nice but can we see them on the truck? Just thought I'd bust your b@lls a little. Seriously, looks like all the work you put into the covers paid off.

Lightning Bob

P.S. Hi to Zor and Nia too. How's Columbus?

Did you do those youself or buy them? If you bought them, did the place you got them from have anything for the 4.6? I want to find some chrome or some otehr decent looking vavle covers other than the ugly plastic ones I have now.

Zor,
Big monkey hands do good !!!!

Bob,
Sweat over an engine bay or...
sweat with a cold beer ???? Decisions, decisions.

King James,
I did the covers with the help of Jim from JDM. The ribs were sanded off and then it took me about 20+ hours of sanding and smoothing to get these covers ready for paint. I think that these covers are also the same as the 4.6 covers and there are places that plate plastics. Just few and far between.

Question

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does the "breather cap" do? Caka, I saw another post somewhere about yours, but I'm baffled. Thanks!

The "breather cap" when used with the special JDM program, relieves (crank case? i think) pressure, therefore leaving the throttle body, boot, and inside of the blower free from the oil that is usually sucked in there. As I have posted in the past, this thing REALLY does work!! Mine was clean as a whistle when I removed the TB&boot. The first time I (i mean jerrod/99svt)removed it, the oil was everywhere, real thick and gooey like. I think JDM is the only tuner that has a program for this right now. Without the program, you will get a lean code. HTH!

RobG,
Sweet look with the covers...nice job

CAKA,
I tried many things over time to solve this problem that you are having...as you may know from past conversations.
What I do is simply leave all my OEM tubing in place, and not run the little filters on either side, I fill my oil to 5.5 quarts..and it solved my problem. hope this helps
