Question Clunking front-end...

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether or not the control arm issue was taken care of in the 2001 model? According to SVT it has, but then again there also isn't a door/IC/piston slap issue either. Perhaps it's wishful thinking on my part but I'd rather spend my cash on go-fast goodies and not fixing Ford's problems.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

It has NOT be taken care of on all of the '01s. It seems that there may be some later built '01s that do NOT have the slotted frame attachment point for the a-Arm.

BfB,

Any idea of the build date (give or take) that he "fix" supposedly took place? I'll have to check my valve cover for the engine build date (or maybe I'll ask the dealer tonight since they are fixing the dent in the tailgate that they were nice enough to deliver with the truck).

Thanks,

Dan

I am 4/9/01 built on a Monday ( ) hehe, you are built on a Wed. Nice day, btw.

Anyhoo, I'm not sure when the changed took place and we're all trying to figure it out and if it's actually true, but BUSA swears his does not have this slot. You can crawl under it, but you will not notice unless you actually dismantle the damn thing.

BFB:

I can see my slot just from crawling under my truck, but I think I got a bigger slot too.

My herb action 911 washers didn't work on my truck.. I ended up welding those to the arm. Hey its fixed now!

RTKILLA,

Could you post a pic of the movement in your control arm? I just can't see it moving with the washers installed into the frame.

Thanks Herb
