Cool Do-it-yourself spray in bed liner

Anyone used one of these do it yourself deals like the Duplicolor, Herculiner, etc.? How did it turn out? Do you like it? I'm looking at doing it to my Lightning. The truck has an over the rail Ford bed liner in it right now and it has a nice little edge around the outside part of the bed rails where the paint has rubbed off. I'm getting rid of the bed liner cause it rattles and I'm putting on a bed cover, probably a soft flush mount tonneau from Checker Products. I'm going to go from the inside of the bed and over onto the bed rail to the edge where the paint line has been rubbed off by the Ford liner.

Thumbs down

I went with Herculiner. There is no question in my mind that a spray-in type of bedliner is the way to go but if I had it do over, I would go with a professional spray-in like Line-X, Rhino Liner, etc. It's not that applying it is that hard but it's just not as durable IMO. I use my bed for very light duty and the liner is easily chipped and scraped. It also is not as "sticky" as when first applied allowing things to slide around.

Is it worth $100? Maybe, but its a clear case of you get what you pay for. Is it the best out there? Definately not. Since it is a permanent mod, I regret not going all the way with a professional spray-in as the L deserves better.

My dad had a Permatech liner sprayed into his F-350 and as soon as I can save the money I will have one. The only other spray in that I've seen is a Rhino, and the Permatech beats it hands down in my book. Permatech can color match (I think most of the companies do now) to your vehicle color and they even have glow in the dark that they can spray in.
Just my $.02

You will spend more money buying a bed cover to hide the cheapo liner. Do it right the first time and go with a big one Permatech has a good web site not sure the URL? Rhino or LineX.

I see at least once a week where people have did the herculiner and it never looks good(at least I have never seen one that has). Spend the money and do it right!
As far as the checker cover, it is the cheapest quality cover I have seen. They are cheap for a reason. Do it right and buy a cover from a good company like Leer, Snugtop, or A.R.E..

Cool

What about the Berlin brand covers? Anyone know anything about them? I've been looking at them and the Sport Master covers. Also at LeBra, Carcraft, Exstang, Penda, Snugtop, Tek-style, you name it, I've been looking into them. But I don't have all the cash in the world to work with and also have no urge to spend over $300 on a damn tonneau cover. I don't see how it's worth it to spend over that much cash on one.

I like the SportMasters cover if you are looking for a vinyl cover. They have a great warranty with excellent customer service. Plus they are easier than most to assemble and disassemble.
