black or silver??
for the silver the dealer **** says that they want 400 bucks more because they would have to dealer trade and ford doesnt reimberse x-plan on dealer trades...if i went with the black though i could use tha 400 to get the wheels chromed, i need pics of a black 01 on chrome if anyone has them...please help me decide
I say go the silver.

Black '01 on chromes would look sweet. Just remeber the 100$ Zaino option your gonna need about every 6mo's to keep it clean.
Silver with Silver wheels looks sweet too. It easier to clean by far and doesn't show dirt bad at all.
They both look good. On a showroom black is gonna look the best, but the silver has more distinct lines with the Trim being black and all. I guess its a matter of preference. I will say the silver will look better probably 10 years down the road.
Edit: I prefer White myself. I had a Silver 2000 and I must say I like the White better

Tuff decision. I first wanted red or white. Tho' silver isn't any less good looking I thought black or red was more of a muscle vehicle color. I did black and tho' it does show more when dirty the clearcoat makes it easy to clean wothout marking up the paint. I saw a yellow in the back of a Super Ford magazine and thought that was cool too, but it isn't an option. Be glad you have to make a choice. In some areas people just can't get 'em.
Here is my 01 Lightning with chromed 99/00 wheels on it.

I don't think you could go wrong with either color, but I would take the silver if I had a choice.

I love the looks of a black L with chrome rims but I am a clean freak so I picked silver because it is easy to keep clean and doesn't show any swirl marks whatsoever!

I just might be the resident expert on the color choice HaHa. Black IS by far the sharpest looking color when clean. That being said, if you want to be cleaning/waxing your truck instead of driving it buy black. If you want a good looking truck when clean/waxed, and one that doesn't show the dirt, you know the answer. If not, look at the photo

does anyone have a black 01 with 01 chrome wheels? i could get it detailed once a week for 15 bucks at work but i really dont want swirls, are they a big problem how much would you guys think it will cost to get the stock wheels chromed?
$150/wheel to chrome anything at my local wheel place... The '01 wheels should be hitting the aftermarket chrome wheels places soon - their 'exchange' deal would be cheaper than chroming your own.
