Post I'm working on a bad A$$ lighted emblem!

Well the other day I was working on my truck and I noticed that the lighted ford emblem is coming apart, so I took it apart and started thinking.

this thing in just a pice of plexi glass with the painted ford logo on it.

So I'm having my brother make me a sticker that says lightning, in the lightning signature of course. that way I can scrap off the ford sign and put the lightning sign on there and have it glow in the dark.

bad idea or good idea?

What else would you guys suggest for it to say?

I was thinking maybe SVT too.

I'm sure that if any of you wanted some of these I could mail them to you once I find out if they work.

Lightning if you ask me. SVT would represent more than just the "L" if we went that way.

well the lightning sign would look like the one off the box on the little remote control cars. I scaned that picture and make that sticker. So I think the Lightning would look cooler. Now I just want to find out if theres a way to make the light RED!. that would look allot better in my eyes.

I've got a buddy that bends neon. I'm having a Lightning sign and an SVT sign mad up for the garage.

He wanted me to put it on the truck (rear window) and I said no.

Im also in the process on these. Im having a sign shop make a sticker that will go on the back of the plexy glass and will be glueing it down with contact cement or something stronger. and they will light up indiglo like the ford emblems do, Im considering having the L logo and the SVT logo on the emblems.

Thumbs up

I already went down this road.I spent 4 hours designing an oval replacement bolt logo that is on a 3M vinyl oval in any color background you could want.It also has a clear thin vinyl over it to protect it from the elements.I could make it either with a silver metallic bolt, white bolt or what I have ...a chrome bolt.Currently I went through a lot of combinations and settled with the black backgroung and chrome bolt( exact match to the OEM bolt) for the front grille and the Ford blue oval with the chrome bolt for the rear.BTW they both have the thin inner line on the outside.I always get stopped and asked where I got them. Its a great subtle cosmetic addition that gets attention! I will post pictures by Monday possibly earlier.
