Post What's My Chances On The Street Against A 99 ACR Viper?

I have been wanting to run this guy for a while and I'am finally going to get my chance. Their is this ****y guy in my area with a 99 ACR Viper (460hp) who thinks that he is the king of the street. I finally was able to talk him into a street race after I agreed to put a $100 bucks on it. The race will be exactly 1/4 mile on the street. I have done my homework and his car with a good driver at the track will run between 12.2-12.5. I personally feel that this guy is not a good driver due to seeing him launch on the street several times and he gets sideways everytime. I will be on the bottle with all my mods in my sig plus I will be on ET Streets. I figure that I should at least be able to run a 12.4 on the bottle. My L hooks extremely well on the street with the ET streets so by my guess if he does by chance get a good launch on the street I should still be able to win by 1-2 car lenghts. If he gets nervous and blows the launch (which I bet he does) then I should take him no problem. I will be filming this race and will post it here for all to see win or lose. So guys do you think I will take em??

Someone else asked this a while ago... the overwhelming response was: DEFINETLY Go for it! If you lose, you just say "Hell, you're driving a Viper, I'm just in a pick up ?!" If you win, you'll be a legend.

And the ACR's are a Bi*ch to launch.

Thumbs up

My bet's on the L, unless the guy was a great driver, which you said he was not...

Ever wonder why so many folks buy such expensive/great cars and not learn how to drive them extremely well? Seems like a waste...

Thanks for the comments. Yeah actually I was really just wanting to race for fun but this is guy was like why would I want to waste my time to race a Lightning! I was like then lets put $100 dollars on it just so you won't think I am wasting your time!

I bet this guy will simply blow the launch and I will end up killing him in front of all mine and his friends!! LOL

Ran a friend of mine in his '01 RT/10 (~435rwhp) this weekend. Got my *** handed to me but it was expected. Actually held on better than I was expecting. With tires ans the bottle, you should edge him. If he blows the launch, misses a shift, no problem.

Of course all I've got is a chipenfilter.

Get a JL Chip and a lower pulley and then run him. With all of that and a 75 shot you will be in the 11's with slicks.

Are you going to remove the hitch, passenger seat, gas, windshield washer fluid, windshield wipers, etc. before you run?
And where do you live? If you're within an hour of me, I'm there!

RedHotL- If that guy shows up with slicks I am going to go ahead and hand him his 100 bucks before the race and race any how just to see how I fare! After all hell he should beat my school bus since he is running a $73,000 dollar car which has 10 clyinders and weights a little over a 1,000 pounds less than my truck! I guess we will see!
