Lightning/Asp, what thread are you reading? I have to agree with DreaminAboutL, this is a match between a couple of guys with fast cars/trucks. You line'm up and go for it. Your comments about mm and dreaming are only floating around in your own head. Sounds like your suffering from some kind of deprivation thing to me. Go see a shrink.

Absolutely race this guy! It's a no-lose situation, especially w/a 75 shot and ET streets!
The haybale and bandjo music would be a nice touch too.

Cool

Decide beforehand the race conditions, i.e. one run all or nothing, no rematch or best two out of three, etc. You have only the $100 to lose. He can lose the $100 and lose face big time. You might offer him a hari kari(sp?) sword if you win. BTW, bales of straw are a lot lighter and have more chaff.

My money says he'll be so nervous when you jump out ahead that he melts his tires.

No. What you are doing is trying to compare apples to oranges. Then you are saying Stock for Stock. It however isn't stock for stock. I for one hope he hands that guy his butt. MM&FF tested the Viper GTS and they couldn't squeeze a good launch out of it to save thier life.

Lightning/Asp,
  • You missed my point on the deprivation thing. Go see Dr. Ruth.
  • Your comment that a stock Viper is faster than a stock Lightning is indeed a revelation to all. Please start a new post and go forth and spread the word to all. This pearl of wisdom is NOT the topic of this thread.
  • Please re-read the first post, you know the one we are all responding to and try to understand what is going on. Hint: Its a grudge match. Period. End of story.

I have been wanting to run this guy for a while and I'am finally going to get my chance. Their is this ****y guy in my area with a 99 ACR Viper (460hp) who thinks that he is the king of the street. I finally was able to talk him into a street race after I agreed to put a $100 bucks on it. The race will be exactly 1/4 mile on the street. I have done my homework and his car with a good driver at the track will run between 12.2-12.5. I personally feel that this guy is not a good driver due to seeing him launch on the street several times and he gets sideways everytime. I will be on the bottle with all my mods in my sig plus I will be on ET Streets. I figure that I should at least be able to run a 12.4 on the bottle. My L hooks extremely well on the street with the ET streets so by my guess if he does by chance get a good launch on the street I should still be able to win by 1-2 car lenghts. If he gets nervous and blows the launch (which I bet he does) then I should take him no problem. I will be filming this race and will post it here for all to see win or lose. So guys do you think I will take em?? Take it to the track! Two sub thirteen second vehicles racing on the street is totally irresponsible. Don't let your grudge end up before a judge!

Lightning/ASP- Where this race is going to take place is very isolated. There will not be anyone else on the road except for us.

We still haven't got a chance yet due to this non-stop rain that we have had for the past two weeks!! The only thing you can race on the streets here is a boat!

You should mount a raceCAM on the front bumper and point it at the lane that he stages in.

Wink

Race him in the rain. see who knows how to handle their hack. i've never pulled the trigger on the nitrous in the rain, and would like to know second hand, exactly what would occur. sorry, but the board has been a little short on excitement lately, and a new experiment, might just be the ticket.
Report back!
