Loss of Boost???
Whats up guys. Was driving the L yesterday and gunned it from right around 20. Once it got to the shift, i heard a considerably loud "psssssssssss" (kinda like when a truck with air brakes stops). It felt like the truck was gasping for air after it shifted into second. I haven't really noticed this before, but mabye it's normal, mabey its not. Any input is appreciated.
If you were manually shifting it into 2nd, you probably hit the rev limiter. I did that once myself and the truck felt like it fell flat on its face. I just leave it in drive now.

It happens occasionally especially with a chip. It hits the rev limiter and the computer holds out the blower for a few (15?) seconds. Not a big deal unless you're munching on a Z28 or something.

you can always disconnect the boost solenoid and you'll have boost without the fear of running a LT1 and hitting it and getting spanked... I know the feeling as I like to do a decent smoke show of the tires and I hit the rev limiter in the smoke show and ran a 17.05 against a 15.50 S-10... Pissed me off so the solenoid stays disconnected now...

Anybody got pics or instructions for disconnecting the solenoid? Is there any danger of hurting the motor by doing so?

It's located almost directly behind the intake on the firewall. I don't have a pic. It's there to cut boost in case of an emergency. It's ok to unplug it to race, but I would plug it back in for long trips. It opens a "relief" butterfly on the back of the intake when cruising to allow air to skip the blower, therefore allowing cooler uncompressed air into the motor.
