Cool easy belt install after PSP lower pulley

Just got the PSP lower pulley installed this morning. I had heard it can be difficult to re-install the stock belt with the bigger pulley. I had read several suggestions on how to get it done, but the belt seemed too tight for either of them. What I did was to remove the driver side idler pulley. Have a helper pull the tensioner and install the belt on all the other pulleys. Then just slip the idler pulley back over its shaft. It was almost too easy. Worked for me!
Hey - If someone else already suggested this...sorry for the repeat.

Thanks Sal/Spiro! Quality kit, great instructions! Noticeable improvement. No track times yet, hopefully soon.

Chuck, Napa sells an eight ribbed belt just like our stocker but a few millimeters longer. When it is installed with the PSP lower pulley your belt tensioner will be in the exact same location that it was when the stock pulley was on.. If you want I can get the part number... Jeff

Glad your happy with it. I look forward to getting them all out there. Some have had a problem reinstalling the OEM belt, I did not for some reason. A larger belt wuld not hurt, but I am glad to have it slightly tighter than before. I now dont get that "belt-squeal" like you get with a smaller upper during firm shifts.

Now get to that track and run some trips down the 1320

I was using the slightly smaller gates belt before the install and managed to use it with the psp pulley also.

Maybe this is crazy to mention, but how strong is the blower's snout? I would think that too much pressure would cause premature bearing failure. I seriously think they would have overmade the blower for this fact though, but you never know.

I questioned my mechs about the added tigtness and if the stress would cause premature bearing failure of the blower bearing. He said that if we could get it on it would be fine plus it would streatch. Since they know they will have to fix it if its not ok I trust their judgement. I do like the idea of a slightly longer belt posted above. Thanks.

That number is correct for the Napa belt. 080670 it's 1-1/2" by 67-5/8" or 28mm by 1715mm. Does anyone know the length of the stock belt? The part number for it is 1L3V-8620-AA The Napa belt with the PSP pulley puts the tensioner in the exact same location as the stock setup was.
