Post Hey guys, Lightninforce just got some more Belltech shackles in

I purchased my Belltech shackles from Mark at Lightninforce

These are real good quality and come assembled so you don't have to have the bushings pressed in.

I think this was one of the best mods for the money. At 49.00 and give the truck better stance, you just can't beat it.

hey evil guy,
sorry if this sounds like a dumb questions but I'm not too much of a mechanic. I know shackles are for lowering the vehicle (right). Do you use them both in front and in the rear? How many inches can you drop your L with them? What does it look like once installed?
I want to lower my lightning a little but i'm overwhelmed with all the different ways and products out there.
fill me in with all the info.
thanks hugo

Hugo, the shackles are pretty much an easy install. They come with instructions, and are used only in the rear. It will drop the rear so that it sits level with the front (approx. 2 inches) Using shackles is a good way to get a great look out of your truck, while keeping the front of your truck high enough not to scrap on the ground while leaving parking lots, or while parking, and it's easy on the pocket book. Once EvilGuy gets back to this post, I'm sure he can post pictures of his Silver 01 lowered with these shackles, before and after.

Hugo I hear they go for about 30-40 dollars. But ask Tampa SVT about the quality of the AIM shackles, he said he trashed them. And besides you don't have to have the bushings pressed into the shackles like you do on the AIMs.

Corner I can't really tell. These trucks are set up pretty stiff from the factory.

hugo,

b/w $30 and 40. I checked them when I removed the hitch. Quality of the AIM's is lacking to say the least.

Corner,

They seem to soften the ride a bit therefore reduce "Kinser Factor" in the corners.

Evil,

bushings came in my AIM's.

Bob I have heard of people having to have bushings pressed into their AIM's. Maybe I've just been out in the sun too long.
