I don't know what the laws are in your state, but in most states your insurance covers the car and the
dealer's covers the deductable. Most Dealers have such a high deductable that they must pay for it out of their pocket. Generally they must show due care and post a disclaimer saying they are not liable.
Read the fine print on the service order you signed or look for signs in the Dealership.
It sucks, I know, so the next time you see a lawyer drowning, throw him an anvil!

That S U C K S , and I also find it hard to believe that the dealer is not responsable for damage done to your truck. But , I don't know. They say whatever doesn't kill ya only makes you stronger. Best of luck in getting your problems resolved

Ok maybe not a professinal job but the sole reason i think it was a "CAR THEIF" and not some complete idiot is the fact that they did such a clean job.VERY little damage. The door handle was clean as can be with only the lock itself pushed in and the colum was smothered and it was also a 'clean break'.Im positive they wanted the whole truck cause they did not steal the amp/changer/radio and didnt make a point to scratch, destroy or hurt any other part of the truck. They wanted the truck only and they probally figured, the speakers were easy enough for their troubles

I agree with BFB. Sounds almost too easy, like if they got the key thats easy in easy out. Grease Monkey stealing just the subs sounds reasonable too heh.

I think under law they are in legal pocession of your vehicle when they accept your car for repair. As such anything that happens to it while in their legal pocession if their responsibility. Take the time to talk to a lawyer and get the dealer for lawyer's fees too.

Talking

Most lawyers give free consultation, at least for the first question (be sure not to waste this on "Do you give free conslutation?"). I am pretty sure that if it is in their possesion that they are liable for it, as long as you don't accept it back from them until everything is taken care of. If you accept it back and leave their property with it, then it's all you, but as long as they have it, it's their responsibility. They may even have a disclaimer, but I think that's just a load, I'm not 100% sure, though, but find a lawyer that gives free consultation and give him a call. Can't hurt to find out for sure.

When you take your truck in to the dealership
for repairs, you are more than likely gonna
get it back with some sort of damage! I have a 97 Expy Ive kept dent and scratch free for
4 yrs. and inside of a day at the dealership
they scratched the hell out of both front fenders and stole my case of cd's!!
On top of that, they went through the glove box and the cd changer itself!!Called the service manager and he said they would pay for the stolen cd's and to have the front fenders painted but offered no apology!! Like he knew it was going on,but wouldnt do anything about it! I wonder how many other peoples vehicles have been gone through there?!!
