I was on my way home from work, decided to stop by my Ford dealer to take a lookse @ the new 01 "L" (if they had any). Well pulled up & was showing my wife the new headlights, when I see a 01 cobra sitting inside. As I wipe the drool from my lips I tell her I'll be right back as I step inside to get a better look at it. Low a behold there are 2 new Saleens sitting right next to it. There was this drop dead dark red (crimson red or something) coup. I got this eavil look in my eye, damn that car would be nice to have, was 35k. It wasnt a s/c so I knew it wouldnt be as fast, but geez I would love to have it, just throw in a vortech & that car would rip. Wife said "NO", so there it will sit for someother luck bastard. Anyone here have a new Saleen? That dark red was too gorgous!

Before I got my Silver 01' I was very tempted to get a darl blue S/C saleen. It was so nice. A week after I got my L, someone at my job got a light blue Saleen, they are just nice.

We just got the Rousch III 2001 mustang shipped up here. There something else. It was a tough decision between Saleen and Rousch but we are pleased with are dicision. Espicially the chances of running into one of those anywhere in Western Canada or even Canada alone. Is very slim so it sure has been a neat exspierience with the car. Plus it fast a hell.

A guy over on BON 2001 Cobra board just picked up a 2001 Saleen Cobra Vert, it was really sweet looking. Only a handful to be built.

The supercharged versions are in the low-$40s. Lot of $$ for a Mustang, IMHO. However, I agree that they look nice, and the suspension is much improved over a regular Mustang.

But you could build one much cheaper. Also, the Saleen warranty is not that good. 12mo/12k miles. Don't let a dealer tell you differently. The Roush stuff might be warrantied better.

I picked up a '98 S351 which was the last year of the older body-style...got it primarily b/c of the 351W engine (no longer in production). That and the fact that I paid a more "normal" price for a Mustang vs. what one of these things costs new.

The new body style is definitely growing on me, and the red color you speak of is indeed awesome!
