Post K&N or filter kit

I read that someone had put in a K&N filter and cut a couple extra holes in the bottom of the stock airbox and got a few extra pounds of boost out of it.

Anybody know if this works. I am thinking about doing it instead of buying a kit right up front.

If it works do you have the part number for the K&N.

Thanks
Paul

I bought the K&N repl. element and ran a 3" brake duct hose to the lower bumper and into a 3" hole in the bottom of the airbox. Nice mod but it still needs more air.
