LoL, yep, so true I'd imagine. ACoder was also referring to "Ferris Buellar's Day Off" It didn't work there either, <G>. I know my brother did this to my mom's '86 Honda and low and behold it DID work! Needless to say he got caught still, hehe!

Thanks for the input guys. I think the L I was looking at was "clocked". I didnt mean to start a contrversy.
By the way , one of the reasons someone might want to alter the odo would be an L owner or a cobra owner concerned aabout being screwed by ford by running over 36000 miles warrantee period then having their intercooler go south, or all the 99 Cobra owners who had numeroous problems tha they wanted Ford to address.
Sometimes a little bending of the rules is necccessary to keep from getting. JMO

Cool

Maybe my little winkie eye guy wasn't a hint that I was joking. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know how to stop the odometer from going up. Next time I"ll be sure to add the >sarcastic< face.

Thumbs down

My first post but its informative.I personally have a friend that purchased a single program silver chip for his 99 for 500 bucks. this chip does eliminate the odometer as well as trip odometer, so i have seen it work first hand so it can be done and hopefully i could get one for myself for my 00. I WILL NOT SAY WHO becuase I am sure it will not last for much longer after this thread

Wink

And how is that different from adding chips and other performance enhancers and then expecting Ford to honor the terms of the warranty after you haven't? I'm confused.

ILL-SVT, the difference is getting into a dispute with Ford over warrenty issues, or going to jail for a Federal crime (odometer fraud).
