Lightbulb JBA finds 21hp with headers??????????

Sport Truck Mag. August 2001, page 96. JBA claims 21 hp gain and 33+ touque gain with a set of small-tube headers. Cost $699, ceramic coating extra.

Not bad if true.

Same issue, page 120, Hotchkis suspension kit for L, lowers L 3" in front and 4" in rear, cost $1264.00.

I had JBA headers on my 99 and they were made of good quality, but i absolutely had no gain on E.T or MPH at the track!Shorty headers do not produce anymore power just ask anyone using them.

Those are the specs for a regular f150. The suspension is lowers the Lightning 1" in the front and 2" in the rear. The cost (installed) is about $1000. BTW, new eccentric bolts/washers are required to get the alignment correct. It's a Ford part and should have been there from the factory, but wasn't. Add that cost also.

See the thread http://nloc.org/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001663.html for more info.

HIGH ROLLER is right. I have JBAs on my 2K, and there was no performance gain at all. However, they sure look nice.

I would think that JBA pays for advertising in the magazine. So you better believe that a write up would include hp/tq improvements. But hey, they look nice ;-)

I wish these company's could be successfully sued for their LIES!!!!! Appearance is nice; but, lies about performance used to sell units and making the customer settle for "well, they do look nice" is such a scam, to me.

Cool

Haven't seen any appreciable horsepower from the JBAs, but they are nice especially compared to those gawd-awful boat anchors they call stock headers. I suspect that I might be receiving some benefit on my 1/4 mile times due to an increase in terminal speed. Go_rila has gone 110.7 mph without the benefit of a pulley or juice.

IMO, the JBAs have to be more efficient than the stock set-up at high rpm.

Thumbs up

Didn't we go through this with Bassani Headers a year or so ago in the same "rag". Opps. Sorry!! Magazine!!!
Anyways, I along with alot of others here on this board, "BIT" for these same manufacture's claims. So I bought the hole package. Finally a year later I decided to take them back off to see if I really gained any MPH or ET. Well I did gain MPH and ET!!! (all of .04 Hundredths of one second and .5 MPH. (with everything else being equal)
WOOPEE!!! GEE!!!
That figures out to $150.00 per .01 of a second OR $120.00 per .10 of a mile!!! (based on $595.00 cost) (If my figuring is correct)
Just my "discusted" 02.
CAN ANY GUESS WHERE THEY ARE AT,RIGHT NOW????

Dan
