Fair Selling Price for my Lightning
I’m putting my lighting up for sale and wanted to check to make sure I was asking a fair price. I am selling my 2000 Lightning mainly because I do not use it. In the last three years I have only put a combined 5,000 miles on it. I have owned this truck since the spring of 2003 and purchased it with 21,000 miles on it. I am the second owner of this vehicle and have the title in hand. The truck currently has less than 37,000 miles on it of which I have put 15 since purchase. This truck is put away for the winter and driven from the late spring to early fall. The truck is covered for at least 50% of the year. The tuck is completely stock except for the following:
· Extang full tilt bed cover, installed in the summer of 2003
· Flowmaster American Thunder cat back exhaust system, installed in the summer of 2006. Fully welded installation.
· Custom cover
· Tinted windows, came this way when I bought it
I have babied this truck since the day I bought it, it has never been to a track or ever abused in any way. The intercooler replacement was performed per the Ford recall. It still has the original tires which have plenty of tread left. This truck does not leak a thing and is in 100% working condition. I just had it inspected and is passed without any issues.
I’m asking for $15,000 and think that is a very reasonable number especially for a mostly stock truck that has been meticulously cared for. I have always used Mobil 1 for all oil changes.
Thanks,
Pete

Ill give you 1,000 + my 97 F-150
yeah your asking price sounds fair. At my local car lot for a 99 thats very clean they want 17,500 for a 99. im not sure how many miles are on it. but i think someone will buy it for 15,000. Good luck

Hard for me to say, I traded my 2000 Lightning back in 03 for $19,000...
I'd say $15k is a fair asking price, but be prepared to take a little less with the market being kind of low.
If that's what you want, hold out for it till you get it. Goodluck my friend.

Dude, I'll trade you my truck + $5K
In all reality, I think thats actually a low price.
2000 Ford Lightning 5.4L Supercharged $15K vs. a puny 2006 Ford 4.0L V6 Mustang is $18-21K???
WTF? I'd take the L anyday, although I bet insurance would rape me for being 17
