Had some fun with an L-T-ONE!!
Thought I'd post a small kill, although I don't usually street race...uh emm..and surely don't condone such a thing.
Cruising home from a days work, when I spy what appears to be an LT1 corvette in the rear-view. Definitely had flowmasters (the sticker on the window was my first clue!), body kit,lowered, rims, and a huge cowl hood with louvers in an arrow shape, kind of hard to explain. He zooms past me, and cuts back in my lane a couple of cars ahead taking "pole position" at the red light. I moved over, but unfortunately there was still two cars ahead of me.
Waiting for the light I was thinking...if I get next to him, I'll show em' what this 5000 lb. pick-em-up truck will do! I think someone upstairs was listening, because right then both cars turned forcing me right next to the young dude with the bumpin' stereo.
So, I did the scan, checking for police, grandma's crossing the street, kids on bicycles, etc.. Coast was clear.
He gave a couple of revs while looking straight ahead, and was easing up closer to the crosswalk while the light was still red. Light was still red and he was almost half way into the crosswalk! I remained back giving him a 1/2 to 3/4 car length headstart.
I was thinking, sheesh, I'll spot him if he thinks he needs it!! hehehe Finally, light turns green and with a slight "yelp" from the meats in the back, I was off. Vette put down some rubber as well. Truck shifted into 2nd and bye bye vette.
I let off around 55-60mph as things were getting ugly for the sports car...I even gave him the "handicap" headstart , and I still zoomed by him about a truck length before I let off.
I slowed to the speed limit and he cruised on by like a dog that was just scolded by it's master!! About a block ahead, he made a quick left and was out of sight.
I had the biggest grin on my face the whole way home!

I can attest to this as well, as the prior owner of a '95 Vette and a '99 Lightning (traded both in 3 days ago now on an '01 silver Lightning hehe <G> 
).
The '99 L would always beat the '95 Vette from 0-120. And my Vette laid down 275 rwhp STOCK!

Howdy neighbor! I was around the Branham / Meridian area in South San Jose. He pulled into a house off of Branham, close to Almaden Expressway. It was the bright blue color (similar to the new C5s that come in the bright blue), with a huge cowl hood. I think it was a tad much with all the add-ons, but hey, everyone has different tastes.
