Cool New Personal Best at NE Dragway

Ran my best time yet 13.11 @104MPH with just a chip and filter, and street tires.

I made it home safe and sound with no tickets. Incase you are wondering who the bonehead was that got pulled over for doing a burnout leaving the track that was me. As soon as I saw the lights I pulled over, appolgized told him I won't do it again, and he let me go.Well I learned my lesson.

Nice job on that 13.1 Don!!

Leaving NE drag is not the best place to do a burnout, cops everywhere. At least he didnt write you up.

You guys never show up when Im there I was gonna go but I was tired.i drove 300 miles today got home at 5:30 and ws too tired to go.I dont have my truck anyway.I have decided,i WILL have a 2001 within 1 month.Ill let you in on the details a little later in the month.I can say this. You guys will never see my 2000 at the track again.Next time you see me up ther it will be in a 2001 and I cant race it cause ford wont let me.But they sent me a nice book of all the race tracks in the country so i can watch all the other Lightnings race.I should have an interesting story within a couple of weeks, ill keep you informed. Big ol lawsuit going down and it all started with a young man burning the tires on a specific 2000 lightning when he was cleaning it back in may of 2000 at the dealership he works for . Gee I wonder if it could have hurt the truck being so new with 6 miles???possibly causing the motor and tranny to break prematurly??Gee I wonder.... I think so and whats great is me and lawyers think alike WRONG F_N truck to be doing that to!!OOPS the customer saw it.and it only gets better from there.

And just think,All I wanted for christmas was a new transmission and instead, they decide to play a little game with the consumer.lets see what looks better in fords eyes?

1 new transmission.....$1500

1. new 2001 lightning $32,600

Gee if I was ford,I would have opted for a transmission but instead they felt like playing games. My lawyers love games,!!

By the way,Nice runs guys!!!

Congrats Don. Sounds like you've got it working for you.

I'm afraid to hit the track these days. My truck feels like it's about to self-destruct at 2000 rpm on the highway. Dealer response: "There's definitely something wrong, but we can't pinpoint it. We'll keep you posted if we find anything further." Now I ask, how will you find anything if I am driving the truck? Nightmare!!

I posted this last night, but in case you didnt read it, this is how my night went at the strip:

After two runs at the track tonight, my motor started ticking like a bastard, and loud as hell. I parked it and watched the rest of you New England boys run from the stands. When i pulled up to the house where the dude hands out the timeslips he says, damn thats not good, he mentioned another guy with an L had the same problem and he ended up needing a new motor. I remember reading lquick had a problem with his motor at ne drag and I figured it was him. Anyway, I'll be calling my service department first thing in the morning.

Probie,
Sorry to hear about your motor, how many miles do you have on it?Any prior symptoms like piston slap?
Good luck and I hope it's not serious.

The truck seemed to tick every once in a while but not as bad or as loud as last night. Truck only has 8000 miles.
