Post Need new tire, after kill

I was driving down the street when I pulled up to this dude in a 1940 something Ford hot rod truck. He said he had a 427 in it and a bunch of gadgets. He asked me what my L was and I said it was a SVT product. And he was like, and what the hell is that supposed to do? I asked him if he wanted to find out;he found out the hard way. Smoked him by like 4 car lengths. So he says, Pull over. I'm very excited so I'm dying to show off the L and as I pulled over I slightly hit the curb and my tire poped. It was embarrasing! but anyways I need a tire any one out there know where i could get the f1's for a good price. i got a quote out here for 362, i was like yikes!

I should probably add that my truck and these tires are only 6 thousand miles old. Did I get a defected tire? what are my chances of getting a new one through warranty? There's no way around replacing the tire, hopefully Goodyear will replace but i'm not willing to pay the 362 they want for it out here.

with an SVT vehicle they kinda expect that you beat up your truck, so they probably won't cover it, but if your dealers nice and your tires need to be 3/4 good from the factory. thats what I have been told anyway.

by the way, did you punture the tire or did you just break the seal on the tire? if you just broke the seal then the tire should still be good.

RTKILLa,
The tire is busted, it's punctured. I don't understand how it happened. I take it easy on my black beauty unless someone wants a piece of it. But for the most part I like to just cruise in it and let people envy it. Again, my truck only has 6K miles. The tire looks almost brand new it it weren't for that puncture. Should I take it to Ford? What do you guys think?

The side walls on the F1's aren't very strong. A curb rub could have popped it w/o much trouble. I doubt seriously if your dealer will help.

Have Tirerack send you out a tire for the $202 and chalk it up to experience.
