putting a sub in your L
I am trying to figure out how to put an 10" MTX 6000 series sub behind the seat and not loose any space. I would like to fit behind the passengers seat. I have it in there now but the seat has to be forward so it fits. Does any one know where I could get a molded style box that might not take up as much room ? any help would great.

This seems like one of the best pre-fab options for the Lightning...

I saw that to. But then you loose all the storage space back there. I was hoping to fit only one back there and the modify the plastic storage box to fit back in on the other side. Thanks for the reply.
I had a custom box made for my Infinity sub and had it placed behind the passenger seat. I paid 150 bucs for it but it was worth it.

I have relocatred my cd change to under the seat just below the folding consle on the hump it fits perfect. adn I can get to it with out having to move the seat any more.
as far as the sub box goes.
JBLsilver01: does that keep your console from folding up ? how does it sound ? what type of music are playing through it.

When the bench seat is all the way back, it restricts the armrest from folding up, but if you just pull the seat forward a little it folds up. It sounds great back there. I like it in the middle because if it were behind one of the seats, I think it would muffle out too much bass and wouldn't sound balanced back there. I have the rear speakers disconnected, and have 2 JL coaxle XR570 CX in the doors and a JL 300/4 amp pushing 75 watts to the doors and 150 to the sub. I am very pleased with the sound and its more than enough bass for me and I listen to mostly metal/rock.....anything from Lynard Skynard to Fear FActory sounds awesome. I am very impressed with that 10" sub....its hits hard and tight and is great quality, clean sounding bass.

Greetings;
Thanks for the kind words; I did indeed build the enclosure myself... No one else seems to take the care that I do when it comes to my truck!?!
Anyhow, I'd have to find my old notes to locate the cubic footage, but with a driver like the JL, you can be pretty loose on the design. General rule of thumb would be 'go for as much as you can get'... Matter of fact, that's a pretty good rule for anything!
The seat has full travel fwd/back on the slider track. I suppose that if you pulled the seat bottom forward, then reclined the seat back like the young gentlemen seem inclined to here in my 'hood, then it might not slide all the way back... Never tried it. Suffice it to say that the seat is as completely useable as stock.
