Kudos, MXRACER!!All of these tuners have contributed greatly to the Lightning community.Lets be careful how we address them all and our posts as well.We all have our favorites.I myself have purchased from at least 2 of the tuners, and I have my opinions on both of them, but I will only post the positive things about them and keep the trash in my recycle bin!!

No flame Hank but since you brought it up...

First off, let it be known the heat and humidity were less ideal.

Second, I also have the latest and greatest JDM 90mm "Warm Weather Program" and I ran a 13.8 at the test and tune.

Being obviously disappointed, I tried a different program and cut 4 tenths off my time and ran CONSISTENT 13.4x all weekend. Everything (burnout, launch, tire pressure, same lane, etc) were the same and this was in warmer weather to boot. I highly doubt the track prep gave me .4.

Third, in NO way am I standing up for Mr. D'Amore but I'm curious as to which "tuners" you feel bash him. In discussions I witnessed, comments (NOT by tuners) were in reference to his business practices NOT his program(s). These are TWO seperate issues my friend.

Lastly, it would be highly adviseable not to delve into the pulley issue. Everyone has their opinon on this one.....

Well, time to join in!
Two trucks on the juice in the top ten. One when through several plugs. Two Trucks that tried for pro Lightning went to street Lightning for eliminations. The rules I saw had 12.5 for fastest dial in for eliminations. I got confused at staging lights when I saw a 12.43 dial in. Sorry Ben.

I didn't see any need to remove seats, spare, snuglid, tailgate, torsion bar etc in 90 degree heat when R/T was the deciding factor. Let's get back to the fun that the WFC can be.

Why can't everyone just go with the tuner they prefer and not bash others!!!

I have dealt with JL, JDM and PSP. JL and JDM have given me outstanding service!!!

Anyone ever notice how the biggest flame wars and bashing and one is better then the other, are 90% of the time because of CHIPS.

*just a thought*

It's not a JDM driveshaft, it's a Ford, but let's not stop there. Did Ford sit down in there warehouse and make these driveshafts? Probably not. They probably had a contractor make them to their specs, so can they really be called a Ford driveshaft when "Jakes Driveline*" manufactured them?

*"Jakes Driveline" is a fictious name I came up with, if there is such a company, I mean no ill-will towards you, and keep up the good work.

To bad YANKFAN isn't someone with an opinion worth having or listening to. He backed up everything with what he THINKS. Try running some dyno numbers, head to head competition, or testing of 6 different chips all in one day on the same truck. Then come back and give us the results not your THOUGHTS. IT might be worth considering then.
Right now it only thoughts, which everyone has and it doesn't take ***** to post it on some BB, just a computer, internet connection, and the where abouts to put it. As you can see there are a lot of opinions on the subject, but not much proof. Speaking as one who has been there with all the tuners, Houston Performance exculded. In two years only one has passed all the testing against the BIG 5, and with a notebook full of notes on one truck. I will keep that opinion to my self, and have only shared it on a 1 to 1 bases via phone or email.
The truth is in the testing, not the pudding!

I want to add my 2 cents here too.

I am sure all the tuners have there strenghts and weaknesses, as we all do. I think we should all support our favorite tuner, but the bashing should stop. I could bach a tuner or two that I have delt with in the past few years. If I have a problem with someone I call and tell them in person.

I can only speek from my personal experiance dealing with Jim. He has been nothing but very profesional with me. When he heard the numbers I ran with his first version of his 2001 chip he offerd to data logg my truck for me, so he could learn what the 2001's computer is doing.

He spent a whole day with my truck, what he learned that day knocked a half second off my 1/4 mile time. He has since found even more power in the 2001's and if this rain ever stops I bet I will be in the 12's with just a chip and filter.

I know Jim has been a little short staffed lately, with Spiro leaving and then Rob's family crisis.Since Julie has arived things are getting a little better at his shop, but until Rob gets back things may still be slow there.

I know a lot of you are frustrated with the delays in his pullies, I know he is too. I have seen the pullies that he rejected, and know he is working on them so Guys be patient.

To sum my ramblings up. I know Jim Loves these Trucks and wants them to go fast. He has some great programs for our trucks.

1BADTK you want some proof
I saw one of his chips in a 2000 L run a 12.82 on a 92 degree day with just his chip and filter.

The day I ran my personal best there were 5-6 other Lightnings with other chips in them, and I was the fastest Lightning that night.
There is my proof

I hear Rob will be back next week so I am sure Jim will get things back in order.

Exclamation

Sharing opinions and experiences are good - BASHING is bad.
Lets not bash each other or the Tuners.
These wars always get people spun up. Lets not get caught up in the whirlwind.
Thanks in advance

Well your allways welcome to come up here and race me. I have been beaten before, and I am sure I will be beaten again.

I am not looking to be the fastest L in the land, I have a fairly conservitive program. I just want to run in the high 12's or very low 13's

Your 92 degrees temp doesn't mean a thing. You must look at the overall picture. Temp. Humidity, barometric pressures, & altitude. All of which will vary from track to track. A truck running a 12.0 in Texas won't come even close in Phoenix, and might even be a 11 in KY or TN. I sean so many claims of "Chip & Filter" only its gotten to ba a joke. Any race programed chip is setup for higher octane gas 104 or better. Some of our L owners only run 92-93 octane and some with oxygen additives and will complain about PING. What I am trying to say is thoughts and opinions belong to ourselves, testing tells the truth. The two quickest trucks on the board are in very cool areas with very little humidity, and high BP's. THAT makes horsepower, and a lot more horsepower than the ones in high altitude, cool temps and low BP.
I'll admit I am being a little, well a lot, agravating to most here but its the mod I am in, SORRY. No bashing? No thoughts, or opinions? Come on guys, none of this is worth the read, much less worth considering.
PS, I will be up there just cause you invited me, and you will be the first to know when I am coming, OK.

Unhappy

Damn, and I thought I left all the childishness back at Corral when I got rid of my Mustang. All this "My chip is better, your slow" crap gets old quick.

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO JUSTIFY THEIR PURCHASE. I bought a JDM chip after speaking with Jim for about 15 minutes on the phone. I was impressed by his answers. I've learned to weed out BS when I hear it as it's part of my job as an engineer. I researched various chip suppliers, well all, and Jim answered my questions with answers that made ME feel good. If I run 13.40 with every bolt-on and I'm happy, won't you be happy for me?
