Spiro had the same problem that JL had. When the axle housing "twists" that hard under torque, the U-joint comes in contact with the flange on the rearend and goes into a severe bind. There ain't a drive line in the world that will survive that. Probably a good thing he had alumimun in there, it would do less damage than a steel one.

I think a bunch of us are going to need traction bars soon.

Cool

Dave pickrel, now theres a name i remember from cyberbrawl last july. I was so excited to make the semi finals my first time ever bracket racing, this and the fact that all the 454ss were getting half track head starts that i never bothered to look at his window, assuming his white gen1 was slow like most of the chevys, was i ever wrong as i think he pointed out that my light was green while sitting at the light. Can you say rookie mistake?Any way dave and his wife are real nice people.

I dunno, Devil. You got yours from Inland Empire, too? They told me to send it back and they would look at it; no promises. Sent it UPS Saturday so I probably won't hear anything for a while.

I have a picture of Spiro's broken driveshaft, but I'm not sure how to load it on to this thread. I can email it if someone else knows how to do this.

Yours truly came in 6th out of 50+ trucks.

They were using a .400 sportsman tree which was odd but made it interesting.

I red lit with a .399. GRRRRRR.

I was with .02 of in my times during qualifying and eliminations. Mr. consistency here...

Let me tell you what guys, I was so scared when I heard over the PA that a black generation two lightning just blew piece's all over the track. I was running in the pro L class and I was going against this gen1 white L, so we did our little dance and as soon as I get done I hear over the PA, all this stuff about the bottom end of this truck just went all over the place. Well I get to the scale's and I see johnny comming up behind me, so new it was spiro who broke something. so immediatly I think oh chit, the Nitrous blew up his motor. well I get my truck back to the pits, and get on the little Goped and scoot on over to see how spiro is doing. I pull up and he's got this big smile on his face. So I was like what are you so happy about, and he was just so happy that his driveshaft broke and it was nothing else. the truck launch so damn hard that it just twisted his driveshaft, and if you remeber the way johnny's shaft broke, well spiro's would hacve broke in the same spot as his. I don't think I'll ever put a aluminum drive shaft on my truck. my chit launch's to hard now. It was kinda scarry, but then I saw everything was OK!
