Stan,
They look good. venting the gasses should help the longevity of the rotors.

Stan,

How are you? Looking forward to seeing you at Hallett next weekend. What time are you probably going to be there. I'm looking at being there early with the gf. I'll have the digital camera and video camera there. Tell me more about your video camera on the L.

See you later.

Ronald

Ok Stan it's time to set your tools down and back out of the shop. A 3 axis camera mount? You are spending entirely too much time in the shop. LOL. What's next? How about a gyro mounted drivers seat? Maintain the exact driver position through the turns. What I hope someone will do (hint-hint) is a billet throttle pedal assembly. Get rid of the plastic POS.

I can do that too. With a Lightning bolt in it? Would have to get permission from Ford thou. But will think of something to put in it instead. These CNC machines are fun to work with. Will also make one for the brake and a dead pedal too.Pics when I have time.Stan

Cool

Stan, The 1998 Z28 that I have sold had Cryo'd rotors...I had Carbotech do them...the braking was much improved...the car was on TNN Crank and Chrome this weekend...I missed it though..but Brian up at Nitrous Express in Wichita Falls, Tx is supposed to mail me a video copy

Stan,
You are reading my mind. Might as well do the whole set. Throttle, brake, e-brake, and a much needed dead pedal.

Question Cross Drilled Rotors

Am wondering if anyone would buy them if they were availible. And if you do have them what do you think of them. Also would you cryo them? Some thing like this.

let me know what you think, and by the way the brakes on the Gen 1 in the pic are nascar brakes that they use at Martinsville, that I made to fit the Gen 1 trucks.Stan

Ruslow, I've looked into brakes pretty extensively. What rotor were you planning on using? The only rotors I've been able to find that fit the stock L are the ford rotors and one aftermarket supplier. Both use pretty low quality metallurgy.

You can go the Brembo route, but its much more expensive (3K or more per axle).

What I plan to do is slot the rotors and have them cryo-ed. I spoke with a few people that have done it and the results do seem to indicate a good increase in rotor life. However, you still have the same cooling issues as stock. The cost winds up being about $100 per rotor above the cost of the rotor itself.

I would like a set also if there was a way to mount a 15 inch tire on the back and front with these.

Did I hear about a much needed dead pedal? I've been thinking of engineering one too. When I blast up through the local mountains, I really miss the left foot brace.

Stan or anyone else. I was just on the Brembo site and found that you can buy the rotors separate from their kits. Retail was $359 each for the fronts with aluminum hats. Would these work with stock calipers? If they do might be able to find a discount if we buy a bunch.
