absolutely, no question geet the 01. i had a 99 white one and loved it. but the 01 is something special. sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. and the 01 in every way is just better and newer and fresher.

 

I had a 99 and now a 01. I think the truck rides better and the gears help too. For sure the build quality is better on the 01 (ground effects line up and aren't loose), everything fits well. But, maybe I just had a rare 99 with poor build quality. The thing I like the best about my 01, however, is that I chose silver instead of black! It's about 10X's easier to keep clean!

The thing is if you want to sell/trade your 99, do it now while the value is good! The more they improve the L the more the 99 value goes down, unless you plan to keep it in a bubble for 30 years (better to invest in something more lucrative). Good luck!

 

I had a black 99 with alot of mods and the best chips available and i have a new 01 with just a lower pulley and throttle body and have ran a faster MPH with the 01 than my 99 all loaded up with goodies and agree with what lightning al said too!

The build quality is much better in the 01's, compared to my old 99. Just close the doors and you can "hear" the difference. LOL The only thing I miss about the 99 compared to my new truck, is the little "cubby hole" in which my wallet fit in. And my payments did go down after a $3000.00 down payment. $12.00 down, is down right? One other thing, is that the shocks may all the difference in the world. Hey. its only money
