True, it's still a truck. I remember reading someone's signature that had a quote similar to "They're made to be driven, not worshiped." That's what I live by, I guess. I'm not the guy that sits it in his garage and drives it once a month. So, put a camper shell on it if you want. Just make sure you get a good one, worthy of the Lightning nameplate.

Haven't seen one with a cap yet. My 99 has a lid. I have seen one with a lid and a wing about 3 feet tall, kinda gawdy.

The worst I have seen is a G2, white, bed filled with concrete blocks, the back of the truck was dragging the ground. I guess the guy used it for work, since it was really beat up, scratched, and the right side was torn up from hitting something. Sad.

Hey alphadoggy,

As far as making your payment. I don't think so. I was just stating my own opinion. You can do what ever you want to your truck. If you had read what I wrote, more carefully. You would had relized it was an OPINION. When I wrote the post, I think I was still living in the USA. Where we are allowed one. Don't you think? Your even allowed to have one. In your post you made your opinion. I have no problem with that. It's a free world. But, don't get down on me on mine. You seem to have more of a problem then I do with it. As far as getting over it. I've been. Peace.

Thumbs up

Those with a cap would be in good company. Former Attourney General Janet Reno, (reportedly a red, late model Lightning owner) was interviewed on the news about the possibility of her running for Gov. of FL.

She said, "Well, I had just got a cap for my little red truck and intended to travel..."

Alphadoggy,

Again, that's your opinion. Also, well taken about not being able to afford to but another truck. This post was not intended to **** in your cheerios, or anybody else's as a matter of fact. As far as mean and nasty. The trucks look mean as *****. But, then again there is overkill. I'm sure you seen that before. It doesn't have to be a truck. Second, They run like a bear. But, with the mods, there nasty. That's all.
By the way, we overamp on budweiser in the morning. Only kidding. Well that's it. No harm done I hope. Maybe we can agree on something different next time. Have a nice day.

My, my, a little touchy, aren't we? Overamp on the espresso this morning? Actually, I don't have any payments, on anything, I subscribe to the cash and carry method, but I was trying to make a point. Did I tell you to shut up and don't sully this board with your opinion? Of course not. A little friendly disputation adds spice to the board. Insofar as you did offer an opinion I totally agree with you: a gen.2 Lightning looks far better without a cap than with one. But you go on to request that L. owners "keep them real and nasty", whatever that means. I suppose that if I really needed a truck with a cap, to take my dogs cross country, or whatever, I could go out and buy a second truck, but I wouldn't, I'd just cap this one, and spend the money on some Sea-Doos, or something. And I imagine that there are lots of folks who can only afford one truck, and if they want a Lightning with a cap, or dump truck, or pipe rack, or rocket launcher, or whatever, more power to 'em.
