The RIBS will help with sound suppression/cancellation... the blower whine will be louder with the straight pipe. And the ribs may or may not cause turbulant air-flow, if designed properly, they will not.

Also, 10-12+ PSI is a LOT of pressure. Aged boots will collapse under that pressure... they do on my other car.

I went by a local shop who works on Saleens, to ask about lowering my truck. The guy said he's never done a L but he could get me a power pipe from his buddie back east. He went on to tell me with a chip and power pipe I would pick up 50 RWHP. He also claimed his buddie's truck makes 450 rwhp w/0 nos. Sounds a little fihsy huh? The rubber boot will colaps under 10-12 psi of pressure?? Vacume will colaps the tube, not pressure. BA is teasing again. Bad boy, bad boy.

Well, the only way to know for sure is to try it. Is there anybody who has tried it and what results did they have?

The ribs in the factory hose may be for noise suppression and it may be louder with a smooth tube, but is anybody very worried about it. There are some things that ford did that didn't necessarily help performance.
