Question Considering 01 Lightning...do they qualify for Ford Incentives?

I was thinking about a 2001 Lightning and was wondering if they qualify for any Ford F150 incentives? Trying to do ANYTHING to get that $30K+ price tag down!!!!!! Thanks to all who reply....

USUALLY SVT VEHICLES DON'T QUALIFY FOR THE INCENTIVES, BUT YOU MIGHT LUCK OUT IF THE DEALER IS GENEROUS. I GOT $1800 REBATE ON A GEN. 1 LIGHTNING IN 1994, BUT NOTHING ON MY 01.

Cool

I can appreciate you wanting to save a few bucks. But that said, spend the money and enjoy the finest sport truck available in the past 20 years! The ONLY time I don't like my truck is the 8th of the month. Guess when my payment is due. Hell, I am starting to like it, even on the 8th now.LOL

I tried to bargain...fact is the dealer cannot keep these trucks very long on the lot and knows someone will more than willing to pay what they are asking for it.

Generally the incentives are for vehicles that are mass-produced (i.e. regualr F-150s, Mustang GTs, etc.). The Lightning is not a mass-produced vehicle and is not eligible for the incentives (0.9% APR, $1000 cash back, etc.). These trucks will sell (eventually), so they won't go for it. You could try, all they can tell you is no. I tried for X-Plan, which the dealer loses nothing on, and every dealer I tried refused it. Oh well!!

If you look around and find a dealer willing to do X-plan here is how you can get X-plan:

https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/010107.html

It's a valid link, you just have to find a willing dealer. You don't give your location but CA, TX, FL, seem to be hard to find a dealer to work with. If you find one it's worth almost $4k to ya, $28.8k vs $32.4k. Don't be afraid to do some driving or some phone calls.

I tried to get the $1,500 rebate for my 2000 Lightning seven months ago and was shot down by the dealer and Ford. Ford had a TV commercial that simply stated that the rebate applied to EVERY F-150. I contend that I have a F-150, a SVT F-150. I reported Ford to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General of Michigan. They simply repeated the Ford "company line" that it didn't aplly to THIS model of F-150. Apparently, the Attorney General in Michigan is not interested in false advertising cases. Anything short of the rebate in my hand means Ford is guilty of False Advertising. Any good lawyers out there want my case?

I spent alot of time to find an L at X plan price. This group was a great help and I like the dealer I found even though they're about a hundred miles away. A big reason to get a deal for me was to placate the fiancee ;-)
It worked and we're happy and have an L!
You can search long and hard and find a better price by as much as 10% but also consider how much you like the dealer and how they'll react to problems. My impression from Atlanta is that dealers outside the city are hungry for business.
BTW, I had a big dealer call me and when I said "must be under 30k" they said 29800. When they faxed the paperwork it said 32460. The following conversation was almost funny with them trying to say that they had to put that down and trying to pretend that I was getting the price we talked about regardless of what the papers said. There are dealers that will put on any act no matter how shameless in the hopes that you'll screw up.
BTW2, you'll love the L!

I bought my HD F150 on the Z plan, once I found a dealer that would cooperate. During the deal there was no indication they wouldn't honor any of the incentives, to the contrary, during discussion they led me to believe they would. When the time came for the deal, it was 'I'm sorry, we can't do the incentives on a Z plan let alone a Harley'. At the last minute I had to scrape up some decent financing. I got my best deal through the internet in less than 15 minutes, way better than the banks and actually just as good as the plan I was originally considering from Ford anyhow. Don't rule out the internet.

Cool

I appreciate all the help fellas.....So the SVT vehicles do not qualify for "special" financing...I guess 7.75% from my credit union isn't so bad after all!

I accepted MSRP after months of searching around. Fact is at least in Dallas these things don't sit on the floor for 48 hours. Some dealers add 3K to the price even. My dealer had a waiting list of 40 people to call when their color came in but sold it to me becasue I was there with the money. This truck is every bit they say it is. LOVE my L 01
