This thing about demand and availability for Lightnings always surprises me. It seems places like Texas, California, etc. the demand is high and so are the prices charged. MSRP at least, and often more.

It seems other parts of the country you do not see this kind of pricing. In the Ford dealership where I bought my truck, they have four Lightnings on the lot. I bet two of them have been there for at least two months or more.

It may be of value to shop around the more rural areas for a Lightning. Some of those dealers are more ready to deal. I have seen that here in Maryland. Late last year in nearby Virginia one dealership was advertising a new 2000 L at basically dealer invoice. It was in the newspaper for weeks.

Happy hunting.

There is not anything wrong with shopping for the best deal.depending on where you live you either shop around to get best deal or you find one and be happy you did and pay at least MSRP Every place is different

getting ready to go to bed and watching the news seen a new Ford ad. its offering $1500 cash back on Taurus, ZX2 and Mustang. BUT ya know what the bottom of the add said in fine print. NO cash back on SVT Cobra. So if you see an ad for something back on the F-150 you know what your going to see NO cash back on SVT Lightnings. by the way I do watch tv on a 65" wide screen Digital TV so maybe on smaller sets you might not be able to see the disclaimers.

When I was car shopping, I went to Ford website, clicked on dealer locater, and printed out a list of Ford dealers and Ford SVT dealers. I methodically went down the list and phoned them about getting either F150 Harley Davidson Special or Lightning on A Plan. Mostly, I got, "hmm, come on in, and we can talk about it." I wasn't about to spend an entire weekend dealer hopping, enduring the high pressure talk. So I e-mailed a bunch of them, making sure the other dealerships' e-mail addresses were prominently on the cc: field. Much better result. This time, it was driven in to them that I was dealer shopping as much as car shopping, and a couple of them committed in "writing" (well, on e-mail, but I can print it out) that they would sell those on A Plan.

I ended up getting my F150 Harley Davidson Special from another, closer dealer (with A Plan ) but letting the dealers know that you're shopping around can help.

BTW, I was also offered financing plan through Ford as well. 2.9% for 36 months, 4.9% for 48 months, 5.9% for 60 months, or $500 rebate.
