Trying to see if the 2001L's bigger and more effective innercooler reduces maximum boost level. 99 & 00L's with intake/filter kits commonly see 11-12 psi (in the black part of guage). How much boost are you 2001L owners seeing?

After psoting above , I saw a similar post also on the board. My reason for asking is I was seeing greater boost levels with 00L blower on same boost guage and was looking for reason for reduced boost with 01L blower. Appears some o1L owners are seeing same thing.

Mine '01L is still stock and it see's 9.5 to 10 lbs of boost under load in 3rd gear. Of course who knows how accurate these boost guages are.

 

9-10 so far with the JDM filter kit. Time for a pulley I guess..

My boost gauge goes beyond the 10 mark, but I am not sure what that really means. I assume inaccuracy...

 

10 on the boost guage - stock 01

 

You guys seriously need to invest in an aftermarket boost gauge, cause that stock gauge is way off in our trucks. I used to put my needle way way into the black, and now that I have the autometer I can see that the most boost I ever get is about 10.5 pounds. thats the peak during a run. It woul really help out when your trying to see your max boost. There not that expensive, mine was like $40.00. and there easy to hook up too. just my 2 cents

RTKILLA is right, the stock gauge is at best close. My 01 with the JL air kit is in the black for what that means. I got in Noels group(Thanks Noel) for the pillar pod. I bought it for the 99, but now I have the pillar pod, but not the 99. Guess it's time to spend more money :-)

Do the boost actuator adj. I went from 8.5 to 9.5 on mine
