Post Who Rides and What

Seeing so much motorcyle talk, I'm wondering who rides what. List anything: Bikes, Jetski's, Snowmobiles. I think us Lightning owners are more active than any other performance car enthusiast (one more braggin right). Who races what insanctioned competitions or did race? where/ what?

My toys:

98' Yamaha R1
00' RC51 Race Bike
99' Yamaha R6 Race Bikes
96' YAmaha Superstock Superjet
98 Honda CR250
All my old 750 Kawi Race boats (Jetski, standups)

AFM #115
WSMC #715
IJSBA #290

And all you who spend your time and money on keeping the L the fastest truck instead of racing other things, Thanks. Thanks for giving us bragging rights at ls1.com and the corvette and supra forums.

I got rid of my '98 750 Katana three months ago (two months after getting my Lightning). I just didn't ride it anymore after getting my truck...

When the GF's get expensive, they get booted to the curb and a new one fills in!

Road raced with WERA & AMA/CCS a few years back. Started out 600 production then escalated to 600 superbike. The faster ya go the more ya fall One too many highsides and the wife stopped that fun. Bike was a new 92 CBR F2 at the time. Also had a CR500 dirt bike. Now that used to hurt. Anyway thats how I got the nickname.

No bikes, but who says you can't have toys and be married? I'm going on 11 years now, and my family still loves me.

Have fun!!

I raced at El Mirage dry lake & Bonneville Salt Flats. I set a record at El Mirage that still stands since 1986. 127mph. on a 1956 Triumph 650 in 1.3miles on dirt. I went 129mph. on an '86 Kawi 600 Ninja there also. I have played on the street with an '86 RZ350 Canadian (I had $2100 in the engine) bike that I owned until 1993. I beat a Buick GN with Nitrous and street slicks after giving him 3 cars & the move.
The last streetbike I owned was a 1992 Suzi 400cc Bandit. 14,000rpm 4 cyl. DOHC. I sold it as I didn't ride much. I'm down to a '81 KTM 495cc dirtbike. It feels like it runs 90+mph.

I got started on the streetbikes back in 1980 with a KZ650 that I took to Orange County International Raceway, and clicked off 4 passes,3 in mid 13's and 1 13 flat. I had a blast.

Oh,BTW, I still have my very first m/c. I got it new. A '72 Yamaha JT2 60cc mini-enduro. It has a Hooker downpipe and a full race rotary valve & Webco head.

I bought a 2001 Yamaha VMax a couple months ago. I got it with 500 miles on the clock from a guy that was skeered of it! It now has 800mi and so far I am not impressed. I am taking it to the track next Friday and we'll see then if it is as bad as its reputation and if not I may put the blue bottle on it.

Just sold two of the funnest toys. 1996 Donzi ZX-33 80+ mph @ 75-80 gallons of fuel per hour. The other was the Muzzy project bike. 2000 ZX-12R with 226 rwhp and a big time diet to lighten it up. Someone wanted them more than me. Read into that I made a healthy profit on both.

Have raced just about anything on wheels. Started at 16 in mini-sprints, then switched to midgets and a few times in a sprinter. Started road racing after that. Shifter-karts, F-500, formula Fords, formula Mazda, Formula Atlantic, and Trans-Am. Done a little motorcycle racing at the club level also 600's and 250GP. My drag racing is pretty much limited to a 1969 VW bug I built. 11.97 best pass in it. Ever dive an 11 sec 1,100 pound street legal bug. It was a handful.

Cool

'84 Alan Record Carbonio. Was a Cat. II USCF racer a long, long time ago. Last time I raced the bike was in '87 on a relay leg of the Robert Amiel Triathlon; our team took second place in the over 50 catagory.
Once had a '58 Triumph Bonneville. Shaved the tank and painted it metallic blue, then candy apple red with white saddle. It was a pretty bike, but I had to sell it; starving student needed the money for food.

Cool

I had a 93 Honda CBR 900RR that I loved. It was pretty fast with a pipe, jet kit, and 14 tooth front sprocket. It ran 10.80's all day long. I sold it for a 99 Yamaha R-1 that is AWESOME......I put a M-4 full exhaust system on it. I also just recently just put an Attack Ram Air on, and Man did it wake this bike up!!!!! I can smoke Hayabusa's to 170mph. And Power wheelie's to 150 are no problem.....The head is going to come off and go to Attack racing for some head porting and skim the head about .040 for more compression.
