I know, I know, Lowering questions again..
Hey Guys,
have the rep's 20x9
deciding on 295/40/20s, but I know the min. for those tires is 10", should i go with the 275/40/20?
Also, finally decided to do a mild drop, but i'd like to keep the rear end sitting a bit higher, I'm not a fan of leveling out look. Any suggestions w/pics?
Thanks

On the drop, don't overthink it. Do the drop that you think you want, and then you can adjust the rear height with shackles to get it where you want vis-a-vis the front.
I see the eibach complete pro truck system, coil front springs 1.5", hanger and shackle kit 2" + 2.5"...also the QA-1 shocks.... how would this combo work for me? What would I need/not need
MJG, you really need to do a little research (which makes me feel stupid for cautioning not to overthink it).
What are your goals? Better handling or just looks? How important is ride comfort to you?
How low do you want to go?
Eibach has a great rep, but not for F150s. At least as of a couple of years ago, the front coils suffered from coil bind.
For QA1s, you really should read the posts here and on NLOC. There are some pros and cons. Some (myself included) have had reliability problems, others have not.
I never felt that QA1s had good ride quality. I went back the gas-charged Bilsteins -- OEM front, custom-valved ASN Motorsports in the rear.
For a turnkey, easy-to-install solution, get the FRPP kit. Mild drop, but you can keep the stock shocks. Ride quality very close to stock.

ever consider a TVS system? ride's a little rougher out back because of the leaves, but provides a nice drop (1.5 in front, and 2.5 out back) improves handling, and in my opinoin is a great "overall" suspension package, but again like Tim stated, you need to think about your goals here, looks vs. durability, race only application vs. DD.... another thing is how much of a drop you want? ever consider spindles for the front? makes front alignment a ton simpler...
thanks guys, I have been looking into the drop, researching what I can, I am completely useless when it comes to this kind of thing, thats why im looking for some help......I don't take my L to the track (for now at least) it's just my somewhat DD during the summer months, my toy.
With the 295-40-20s im looking for something mild like youve mentioned, 1.5 in front and about 2.5 in back...

again i would suggest the TVS.... gives a mild drop and excellent handling, the difference is night and day, install is very straight forward, but then again I am a little bias because I really like it! roush is another option for your, don't know a whole lot about handling on this one, but the drop looks good! DJM sells a 2/4 drop as well, but need shocks... the easiest way would be to just get drop srpings in the front (belltech or DJM sell these) and shackles for the rear....again for a mild drop
I asked a guy from JDM and he suggested Eibach springs in front and JDM 2" lowering drop shackles in the rear for 295/40/20s to keep the rake look. Im guessing my ride wont be as smooth, but just for a DD will it do the job?
i would stay away from eibach springs for our trucks... or any f150's that is, you can get a set from hotchkis or DJM or belltech that you will have much better success with. the ride will firm up a little up front, but shouldn't be too bad

The Hotchkis kit requires a shock upgrade for best performance, but the FRPP kit does not.
I had the FRPP kit and I just installed Hotchkis springs. With the FRPP kit and the rubber isolators installed my front end measured 17.5 from center cap to fender lip. With the Hotchkis springs installed and a 3/8 inch urethane spacer, I have 17.25 in the front. The FRPP kit provides a substantial drop in the front but you will have a pretty steep rake in the rear with the 2 inch shackles.
If I had it to do over again, I would go with FRPP springs up front with no rubber isolators and JLP 2,3,4 inch shackles in the rear. I would have got the lowering I wanted and not nuked my ride quality. I do like the Hotchkis kit but don't buy it unless your looking for hardcore handing.
