guys in case you havent noticed or come up here. canada is the same as the states, eh! eh! the only difference other than ,,eh! is that we made the lightning. however we take no responsibility for the earlier intercoolers.

Yeah, I didn't word that right. When I said "stay red", I was reffering to the lights. When I said "no silver and clear", I was also referring to lights. Color of truck doesnt matter. They are all cool.
I just don't like euro lights.

I knew some jack-*** would say that.
But who designed it? (An Italian)
Where was it designed and put together (somewhat)? Detroit
It's American by soul, I'll just leave it at that.

Cool

I think its great that at least people can fit their truck with the new style lights if they want them.

However, if calling them "Euro" is an effort to make yourself feel better....

Looking at the current model BMWs, I don't see these types of lights (certainly not on the M-class cars!). Looking at the Audi S4...nope, they're red. Looking at the new Porsches...uh, there's some "smoke" colored lenses, but mostly red. Mercedes? Red.

What "Euro" cars are we talking about here?

The only hi-end cars I've seen these types of lights on are the Infinitis (I-30)...that's a Japanese car if my geography is correct.

Again, the best thing is that we all have our choice, but let's get the facts straight.

Thanks for the help. I just have one more question. I think it was the Pawn who had the 99 Altezza tail lights on his 2000. Was wondering if anyone knows were I could find a set like that? Thanks.

Zeus, you didn't word your post poorly, I was just playing around with it. No big deal, just having some fun.

WA2FST, I called them "euro-style" because that's what they are. I don't know how that term originated, but that is the proper term. *shrug*

I suppose they are "euro-style" b/c that's what some of you guys choose to call them.

Just like Zeus 2k said red is American, and he got shot down.

Like I said, once I see _real_ European cars running these style lights, then I'll believe it. Otherwise, they are straight from the latest fad that is out there. I'm not bashing them...just not sugar-coating it, either.

i had to get over the "buck rogers" appearance of the 01 taillights. but get over it i did--my silver 01L is right outside my office window. i think the 00 lights are more attractive but my 01 will keep its stock lights.

p.s. anyone elese remember buck rogers? dan

WA2FST, it's not just what some random people on this board choose to call them. That's their d@mn name, deal with it.

Examples:

http://store.yahoo.com/rodi/apccartruceu.html
http://imoto.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/Euroaccord.html

Okay?

Ok, now I completely understand. "Euro" is a _name_ for the lenses (which you did state...my bad for misinterpreting that). It is NOT a style or a concept that was started with the European cars and marketed by European car makers. IOW, these lenses are not there in an effort to copy the European autos.

In fact, in all those links above they are referencing Japanese imports (mostly compacts) and American trucks/compacts.

You said in your first post on this topic that the Japanese import crowd has adopted these, insinuating that somehow it started in the European auto industry. I believe they've "made" it what is is...and chosen to call it "Euro".

"Euro" = "rice"...no matter how you slice it. I'm not casting judgement.

Okay? "Deal with it".

Many years ago chrome was in, then came the "black out" effect, then monochrome, now its a "white out" effect. Call it a trend in auto design.

Okay, now that we've both "dealt with it", I guess we'll call this case closed.

Hahaha...good sense of humor. I can appreciate that.

Best of luck with your truck. I hope your experience will be as good as mine has been. These are awesome vehicles!

I'm glad that came across right, I wasn't getting upset or intending to upset during this whole thing. Thanks for the best wishes! I wish you continued success as well.
