Post Fastest/Quickest 1/4 Miles on F1's???

For the last month or so, I have been racing my Lightning using only stock Goodyear F1's. This is because I had 4:10 gears installed and my truck tuned for 28" tires in anticipation of 15" custom wheels and true slicks. My 26" BFG drag radials, which worked fine with the stock gears, now cause my truck to shift too early because it thinks I'm going faster than I really am. Anyway, I have been able to get a best ET of 12.679 and a best MPH of 110.02 on my F1's. Wondered if anyone has done better. By next weekend, I should have the 15" setup, the wheels are presently at the powder coater for some paint work. New Goodyear slicks are in the spare bedroom(much to my wife's dismay).

Hey Bob, Sal here. Here's a suggestion for you that I heard from Andre. Try running your F-1s backwards. In other words, swap the two rears left and right. Andre sometimes does this when he's off the juice, and says they hook better than the normal way. I haven't tried it myself, but maybe you could give it a try and let us all know if it works for you.

Question

I'm also curious to know what are the best 60 foot times to have come from the F1's. I've had a best of 1.843 on them.

Sal
Thanks for the input.
I've heard that before but have not tried it. Guess I'm afraid they'll do a Firestone impersonation. I shouldn't have to worry about it after this week. See you at WFC.

Lightning Bob,

I'd be surprised if anyone has you beat on F1s. 95% of the guys racing these at the track very often have got some sort of sticky drag-oriented tire...as you're well aware.

What mods have you done again? 110mph is flying.

Lightning Bob,
I agree with Wes. I don't think you're going to find anyone who's running any quicker than you are on the F1's. I thought I was running quick on street tires (Toyo Proxes S/T), but I'm not even close to you.

StruckBy99,
I'm curious why your ET's aren't better than what's in your sig when you're turning some smoking 60' times. Are you at high altitude?

LBob
I just got my first 110 mph slip last wednesday, but at only 13.13 on F1s, 60 ft was 2.07. The latest add ons were long tube headers, Car Sound/Magnaflow cats and a #12569 2 1/2" in/ 3" out Magnaflow muffler.
I also disconnected the PCV and cleaned all the oil out of the manifold and intercooler.
I was running a PSP 4way chip, my best mph with this chip before was 104.85. Who says exhaust doesn't help?

Moonshine:
I dont know why my ET's arent better. I dont know exactly what the altitude of the track is but I know its not considered "high".
Those 1.843's were on an 80 degree day, and truck was dead hooking. The torque converter helped 60 foot times by .1 to .15!! The best before the converter was a 1.95. I have a feeling that those ET's would have been better if I got some cooler air coming into my conical filter and not the warm engine compartment air.

StruckBy99,
Thanks for the info, but that is really interesting. I've run high 12's on street tires in very good conditions (mid 50's, low humidity), but I've never pulled a 60' better than 1.93. With 60' times like you're getting, you'll be well into the 12's if you can get some good air.
