Post Extended warrantee prices?

What's everyone paying for the Ford super deluxe ($50 deduct) 6yr 100,00 mile warrantee? I've got a buddy that's the business manager for a local Ford dealer and he said he'd sell it to me for $5 over dealer cost on my new 01L. He said it'd be $1405. Is he giving me a good deal or a raw one? He said there were add ons due to it being a SVT vehivlce and also supercharged...

There was no different price for the Lightning warranty for me. I payed 1125 for the ESP Premium Care 5/75k. Probably still to much, but oh well...

Hmm. Is it worth it to me to cancel my existing warranty and get another one? Looks like I would save a few bucks, or get longer coverage.

Question

Jim...For the extra $100 bucks wouldn't it be worth it to wait till 3/36 is almost up? If you don't keep the truck I don't think the warranty will add that much to the resale do you?

You should check with Ford, but most extended warranties are pro rateable. I bought a used 99' with and extended warranty with 2 years left on the policy and got $850 back. Not a bad deal.

Undy,

He had to boost your cost knowing that you would max-out with mod's.
The price does sound a bit high.

Think about the fact that ford is coming out with a new body style in 03, and the bugswill (maybe) be all worked out, and ya jus gotta have the newest look, and they will probably have 425 horse stock, then maybe ya will be starting a new warranty. Then you will have $1200,$1300,$1400 to throw at a new one. Gotta have it..............

Thumbs up

Get the warranty. That is a good price. I know. I fly for a Ford dealer and just bought another L and checked the price today. And if you sell the L, you can get the remainder of the warranty back in cash, or use it as a bonus to the buyer. The extra $150 is b/c of the supercharger. Hope this helps.

$800 for 5/75,000...with a $200 deduct (I think). Like a dummy, I waited until my year was up...duh.
