Question JDM Pulley Results

Jim has been sending out lower blower pulleys for at least a week now, I was just wondering if anyone has actually received one and how much it has enhanced your performance? If you have not been able to test the performance, I would love to hear about the fit and how hard/easy it was to install. Thanks, Jeff

JagC,

Whats up???

I can tell you that removing the factory pulley cage assembly is pretty easy and straight forward. I removed mine to weight in, 11lb's. I would say easily within an hour given you have the right tools.

It is no wonder that the factory uses the cage with the total weight the pulley is. I didn't remove the pulley from the cage (I cant) to weight individually.

Certainly there is a better alternative to having the engine rotate all that extra weight

Also, I did cancel my pulley 2 weeks ago.

If you want details, email me

Hey Brian, so did you install Sal's pulley?

This whole JDM pulley thing is a real mystery. Why in the world would he claim to have the pulleys in stock and ready to go when he doesn't? Or even worse, claim to have sent them out when he hasn't, or the worse case, have them in stock and take over 3 weeks to send them out when he knows we have been waiting for months???? I know when I cancelled my order he refunded my credit card that same day, so I'm confident he is not trying to rip anyone off. Just very strange!! Integrity is very important to me though, certainly appears that something "less than up front" is going on. But who knows... I've seen stranger things!!

I'm still betting there are no pulleys, or he has some and they are no good. Since he already used that LIE he may be trying to come up with another one.

I installed a PSP pulley on Saturday. I had a heck of a time getting one of the nuts on the torque convertor to break loose. I went on AOL instant messenger and asked Sal for some advice. He is on there quite often and I find it very convenient to ask my questions there and get immediate answers. I also had a JDM pulley on order that I cancelled at the end of January. I would recommend a hex bit socket for torqueing the 3 bolts that are provided with the PSP pulley. Also putting the belt back on the new pulley took some muscle and some skin of my knuckles. Big deal on the skin,it'll grow back.

I had the JDM pulley on order since back in December. I waited and waited. Asked and waited some more. Read numerous posts about the pulley being shipped next week, next month, next day. I asked for a refund. about a week ago. Jim said He misunderstood my request. He posted he refunded my card Saturday. As of today I have checked two of the cards I use and no refund. No money of mine will ever go to JDM again. But he has so much money he probably doesn't need it.
As George Carlin so aptly puts it. If you are a Customer be prepared to get"SERVICED".

I know I will prob catch some crap for this post but This thread is starting to **** me off

This site is here to help us out, not to bash someone.

It does sound like he is having some problems with his pullies, I would like to ask you if any of you could design and build a pully? He is like all of us a enthuest(sp?)who love the L and likes it go go fast. He has a lot of great products, but no one is perfect, I am sure he is unhappy about this pully thing as any of you are.

How many of you have paid a tuner $ to reburn a chip only to not have it work any better. I bet there are a lot of you in that boat. How many of you have had free reburns from Jim, I bet a lot of you.

I can only speak from my personal experiance. Jim has been nothing but perfesional to me. He invited me down, worked on my truck all day, invited me to the track and then opened his house to me.

He did this to help me out and learn about the 2001's. Because of this all of you with the 2001's will have better performing chips.

Guys sometimes you have to have patience, I am sure once Rob gets back to NJ, after helping out a sick parent things will get better at JDM. You should see what he is driving, a peice of ***** ranger because his truck is apart, and he is busy doing same day reburns for guys who need there chips the next day.

Well thats it, and I guess my secret is out before wednesday when I go to the track here in NewEngland

There are two things I see wrong with the whole pulley deal. One is charging money for something not shipped. The other is not being up front when problems occur. Most people would/will understand if they are informed.

You are wrong Don C. Jim is a liar! I don't care if that pisses you off! The best thing about this board is we get to find out about vendors and their products. How many lies does he have to tell? I don't beleive any pulleys have shipped. Jim may be a nice guy but he is the only vendor I have spent money with that five months later I still have no product. Don, I don't mean to jump on you, I do not even know you. I'm sure you are a good guy, but I think you are taking Jim's side becase you have gotton to know and like him. That's great, but the fact remains the same. He took our money and did not deliver product, he told story after story after story! I posted on the SVT board that I wanted my money back and he posted for me to call him at his shop the next day. I did, and he told me if I still wanted the pulley it would ship that week or the next for sure, I said I would wait. Guess what...that was four weeks ago. Sat. I posted the pulley question agian. He said all the Jerry's pulleys had shipped but he would check this morning and let me know first thing! Still nothing. I just want this to be over with. I don't care if he comes out with a chip that will make our L's run 10's. I will NEVER buying anything from JDM again! It's time to call a Spade a Spade!
