Don C,

I agree with you people are getting a little carried away. Not to long ago Sal was being bashed to no end. I must admit I canceled an item that I ordered from Sal, but didn't get on the board and bash him. I contacted him via e-mail. I was just to impatient to wait.

Even Danny Swanson was bashed a number of times and I like Danny his customer service is top notch and he is very helpful and a good tuner.

I ordered mine, pulley, when Spiro was posting to send money now and be one of the first to have a lower pulley etc. Spiro is top notch also. He has/was always helpful if I had a question when he worked for JDM and still is, I keep in contact via e-mail. Why he no longer works for JDM is his business. That doesn't make Spiro nor Jim bad. We all have had a falling out for one reason or another.

Jim from JDM has been up front with me and explained what is going on etc., hell he was under a truck when I called earlier today and he came to the phone to talk to me. Jim has always sent things very promptly when I have ordered them and they work and any questions I have he takes the time to answer.

I think it is a total waste of band space on the board bashing people, plus it also gets the thread closed. If you have a problem call and talk to them. If your chip doesn't work call whoever you bought it from. They are the ones who know about the chip or whatever. If you are close enough go see them eye to eye.

My $1.00 worth.......

Regards,

John Armstrong

Exactly. I can understand the delays due to machine shop problems, employee turnover, etc. What I don't understand and is seriously trying my patience is JDM's refusal to come clean on this issue. They not only refuse to provide periodic updates (unless forced to do so by a post on www.svtperformance.com), they get an attitude if you even ask. It appears that they provide good customer service to a select few, and don't care about anyone else. The only reason I haven't asked for a refund on the pulley that was charged to my credit card over 5 months ago is that I probably wouldn't get it anyway. I have purchased a few items from JDM (throttle body, 90mm MAF, chip reburn, aluminum driveshaft) and was planning on buying a few more mods (torque converter, gears, shift kit), but I have lost all confidence in JDM and it would simply be foolish to send them any more money.

How about a poll? How many of you have paid for a pulley and not received it (and how long ago did you pay for it). How many of you have actually taken delivery of a JDM pulley?

Lets keep the Bashing to a minimum. Warning others about issues you have with a vendor is one thing but keep your direct attacks offline. An email or phone call to the vendor is the best way to lodge a compliant.

John, how many times should I have to call? Post like this are the only way for others to make up their minds about who to buy from. I don't mean to bash JDM. I just want everyone on this board, (THE BEST SOURCE OF INFO ON OUR TRUCKS) to know about my experiences, (and I want to know about ALL of their's) then they (and I) can make more informed decisions.

Cool

I agree John. The pulley is the only thing I have ever had to wait on from Jim. I'm on my 3rd reburn at no cost just to get my truck tweaked just right. I'm going with a flip chip so I can have my tweaked regular program and his new summer program. I've still got a loaner chip he sent so I would have a chip while he reburned the other one. My single program and loaner will go back when I get my flip chip. The L has gotten faster with each reburn. He has delivered on everything else and I have no reason to doubt him on the pulleys.

I ordered an aluminum driveshaft from JDM and then found it for $100 less online. I called Jim and told him I was shipping it back and wanted a refund. He said no problem. I kept checking (10 days) for my refund on my credit card and then called him to find out if my card had been credited. He said he was sending me a check for the refund and I got it about 3-5 days later. Maybe this is what he does with all refunds and anyone looking for their card to be credited should call him to find out. He also told me that the JDM driveshaft had better u-joints than the 2001 factory issued driveshaft. Yeah,ok,sure.

Jerry no offence taken, I am sorry you had problems, I was just posting my experiances with Jim. I too have had problems with some venders, but delt with them one on one. if you ever make it to New England look me up and we can go to the track.

We are all a impatient bunch(myself included) we want to go real fast and we want it now. Hey I waited 5 months for my truck, That allmost killed me.

Kudos to jamstro, Silver_2000, and LTNBOLT,

Hopefully in a month or so we can look back at this as growing pains.

Guys,

I have had very good success with Jim and his products. I know the pulleys have been a long time coming, and I think they will be worth the wait. I feel like if you have a problem with it, you should give him a call at the shop and talk with him. I have never had any trouble getting in touch with him and, I think that is the proper way to handle any problems you may have. Jim is a very reasonable person and he tries very hard to please his customers. I know the guy works very hard to give us the very best products and I have always got great products from him. Lets all of us show a little class here and handle this the proper way.

I used to be the first one on the bash-wagon but im gonna keep it to a minimum.I ordered a throttlebody which was instock and recieved it within a few days and was happy with the service.I am unhappy with the performance of the throttlebody and it is no paticular fault of anyone.I ordered one hoping for a power increase but did not get it.This is not jims problem,Its a characteristic of a 'chipped" truck where you do not feel the benefit like i DID when my truck had no chip.I never asked for a refund,I chalked it up to experience and moved on.That and the fact it was a $500 waste of money for a chipped truck. Not a waste if you want better throttle response with no chip. Its definatly there.

Now the pully issue,I ordered one and can say that I was indeed lied too and that is a fact but, I also have learned from experience 'from this board' that it must and is a tough buisness to deal with people who want things right now or get pi$$ed .Myself included.Im sure JDM has some loyal customers just like I am with JL and now Sal.They have been VERY good to me and that is where i will order from ,from now on.
Im sure JDM is not trying to hurt us,He is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
1.he is having a BUNCH of pullys made for lots of people who want them and has had trouble getting them right. You gotta respect the fact that he does not want to send out bad product. He probally feels that if he does not keep 'us' hangin waiting,he will have nobody to sell to when they do arrive.

2.On the other hand,HONEST is always the best way.

I do not know if he has them or not,i cancelled after being lied too and bought from sal and im glad I did.But I would buy from JDM in the future because he did send out my thottle body IMMIDIATLY when i ordered.Thats one more thing that makes me feel like he does not have them in hand as he claims because his customer service on the throttlebody was INSTANT and if the pullys were there,im sure they would be too. But Im not gonna call him a liar,I do not know if he has them or not.

you guys gotta remember,he is there when you call and this is a HARD buisness dealing with all of us LIGHTNING freaks Im not saying that I do not hear you guys who had problems with him,i completley understand and agree with you as far as charging before shipping but without these guys,we would all be driving 13.9 second trucks

Rob,
I agree with you about Jim... However as a business owner you should keep the customers informed of any problems or changes... He has yet to say anything on the new batch of pulley's other than he has them... He did post that he has sent a few out but needs to update the order status daily because I was one of the first 15 to order and was not on the list... If I would have known this wasn't gonna be here before racing season I would have never ordered it , but since it is paid for I can wait...

I got one from Sal overnighted. He had them in stock so I went with his.I called many times and was never told they were not going out till may 7th so Im really glad I cancelled now I feel that I waited for nothning.I was told tommorrow most of the time but thats cool,I got one coming to my door tomorrow morning,Thats all that matters.Im not mad,Im pretty happy with the throttle body,I dont think it benefits with a chip so much but I will say for those who are scared to do a chip,IT IS A GREAT MOD for stock trucks! It does alot of what a chip does for throttle response in stock form but just no ET reduction that I can see and im pretty experienced if you know what i mean. Good luck and when you actually do have them in hand,Im sure you will sell alot of them

Ray,
Yes, you called many times, somtimes twice a day. You ordered the pulley last Thursday, April 19th. The throttle body was shipped out the same day it was ordered. I told you that I was preparing the pulleys for the group purchase people first and then by the end of the week if I had made extras I told you that I would ship you one because you were in a hurry. Otherwise the next scheduled ship date would be the week of May 7th. If I chose to use the pulley Sal sells I could have had them in stock for the last 5 months. I would much rather take a black eye on being 3 months behind on my pulleys than go against something I believe in.

I am glad that you are happy about receiving Sal's pulley. Good luck!

thanks,
Jim@JDM

Well looking at the first part of your response,I hope this isnt going the way it looks to be going but come on,Why would I keep calling if what you say is EXACTLY as you say? I NEVER heard may 7th.I heard
"""The first 'ordered' pullys were going out friday and the rest monday"""

""Ill be shipping either tonight or tommorrow to you""

""I am assembling them and they will all go out this week,"

"" call back tomorrow at 930 am to see if it was shipped""

Think about it JIM,Why would I call anymore if you told me may 7th?If you said may 7th I would have either waited or not waited. The ONLY reason I calleed back a 'few' times is obvious.I called back because your replys were nothing carved in stone and I needed an idea of when i could set up my mechanic to do it.

In ending,I have NO hard feelings.I will do buisness with you again, just if your gonna say in other words I nagged you,Atleast speak EXACTLY what was said thats all.

Since Jim@JDM will not respond here as stated in this link https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/010626.html

Please take all JDM vendor issues directly to him. Your opinions are clear here.

I closed the thread since we dont need entire threads from other boards cross posted here.

Doug
