The day I got my 99 I went out to the local hangout for the car guys and everybody wanted to see a burnout with it. SO I did one and sure enough there was a cop sitting less then 30 feet away from me around the corner of the building. He looked at me funny and pulled me over. didn't give me a ticket though, just a warning. he never saw a lightning before so he wanted a little peep show.

I got stopped for doing 167 in a 50 mph zone on my 2001 cbr929 got cauught because I stopped for gas 12 miles down the road and got off since I was riding with 4 cops.. lucky for me. the blue wall of silience works in law enforcement.

 

My cousin did 170 in a 55mph zone on Hall Road in Macomb County. Hes got a 2000 Honda CBR700 (?)?

 

Me and my gf got interrupted by campus police at her school in my Lightning... they didn't come to the side of the truck, just lots of lights and a "if you're parking overnight you need to go pay the guard".

No tickets (yet) but I sure do deserve a couple. Last week I had just put the Superchip back in and took my neighbor out for a test run. Turned right on to a major road out of my block and lit 'em up. Had it a bit sideways and left two beautiful black strips then shut it down at 80 - in a 40. 2 blocks down the road I noticed a cop car a ways behind me. How he did not see me turn and burn let alone speed I do not know - about a 7 on the pucker scale, it would have been an expensive test drive...

It was about 1973 at 2:00am. I was doing about 140mph in my 69' GTO. Passed two cops parked next to an underpass. They didn't even try to come after me. Probably waiting for the radio call to come scrape me up.

 

I hope you still have that car. That is a sawweeeet car.

The worst thing I have done with my L was up in the U.P of Michigan along I-75. After you get about 15 miles north of the Bridge, there is a stretch of highway that is dead straight for about 12 miles. I was going south on that stretch and decided to see what this thing could do. I took it up to 135 and set the cruise. Have you ever seen the end result of a june bug hitting your windshield at speeds like that??? I wonder what was going thru that suckers head about 5 seconds before impact (bzzz bzzz bzzz bzzz... OH SH.....)

What really did it for me in making me realize just how fast I was going was when a sign says that an exit is in one mile and you pass it 25 seconds after you see the first sign. I finally let off after coming up to a pack of cars and didn't want to risk taking someone out. Plus the road started getting really rough and the truck started to feel like it was getting light in the front end. Now I do my speeding at the track. Oh and thanks goes out to my radar detector for being there during that run.

I haven't gotten a ticket in the Lightning, but the truck did see 140mph on friday. I allmost got a ticket last wednesday heading to the track. I got off the exit ramp behind a ricer, he punched it and so did I. Then my radar detector started going nuts so I shut it down. Then a few seconds later I see a cop going the other way, he pulls a U turn and pulled over the ricer and gave him a ticket.

So don't race a half mile from the track, the cops sit there and wait for all the idiots to race to the track. After all you can kick there but legaly once at the track.
