Wink Got laid off from work today--now more time for fun!

Well my fears at work came true today as I join the ranks of many Americans getting laid off in the corporate downsizing master plan of corporate America. Bad news is of course the loss of income, good news is more time to fish, wax the L, test and tune the L, do upgrades around the home, etc, etc. So, I should be posting more than I have been lately. Now the big decision: Look for another job or be done? Leaning towards being done!

Thumbs up

wow, wish I were in your shoes!! If I lost my job, goodbye "L", goodbye house! Well, if I were you, I would have fun for a while, then find a "fun" job (oh like maybe a test driver for Porsche or Ferrari).

MisterP,
No, worked for a small flowmeter manufacturer (about 75 employees) called Flow Technology. Worked as an Application Engineer.

Yoda,
Yes, I'm very fortunate in that regard. Hmm, test driver for Porsche or Ferrari huh, damn that sounds awesome. Ok, that's it, forget the no work plan, gotta go write a test driver resume!

WOW, I'm not sure what to say. Based on our previous conversations, maybe it's congratulations! I guess now you have a different decision to make – work or play. You’ve always been extremely busy and industrious, so I’m sure you’ll be happy in whatever you decide. Take Care!!

Give me a call sometime….. Joel

Hey Peter...The Hot Rod Power Tour is in Kingman next week, take a ride up and see 'em. Give you something to do. I'm jealous.

Unhappy

Seems like a lot of folks are getting downsized -the company I am subcontracting for just went bankrupt recently (California Power Exchange - now the state of CA is buying power - hmm state government controlling the electrical grid - scary...)

Best of luck to you.

I have been out of work since Feb. I am looking but not finding anything. up side is I get to spend more time with the L - down side is we have been having ()&)^%&^$$# weather here with very few good days for cruisin. If I don't find work soon I will have to find a cardboard box big enough for me and my L......
