My God, I see it in the background! A vet!
I'm glad I'm not the only one confused with carports. I have a 96 SS with about 448RWHP and STRIPES. I love chev. and ford, really anything that's fast.
Now you just need to sand and paint that rear trim and you will be done.
Great job!

Thumbs up

Peter B,

Very nice... Looks great! How much did the new window run with installation?

By the way, what brand of bed cover is that? Looks like exactly like what I want.

dogleg,
Yes, bought the Vette last year, went to the track, saw a couple of Lightnings run better than me, researched what a Lightning was, decided I had to have one, always wanted a Vette so decided no way I'm gonna part with it, so having great fun with both. My God 448 RWHP on the SS! So is that a pumped up LT1 or LT4? I think SLP made the LT4 versions in 97? Not sure, but would love to hear about all your mods and track times!
Now that I lost my job, I should have all kinds of time to work on the L including the rear trim work.

Adrenaline,
Went to the Ford dealer, he quoted me like $980, I told the guy the must be out of their mind. He says hold on, let me look at something, he says, hmm, I have a returned on in the back I can sell you that for like $150--I said sold. Had the old one removed and new installed for $120 at an auto glass place while I waited and watched, Ford dealer quoted $75 but I didn't want to leave the vehicle.
The bedcover is made by SnugTop and it is a Snuglid. Only thing I don't like is mounting I chose. I bought the "no drill" mounting kit which raises the lid about 1/2-3/4" and if you look at the photos, you can see the plastic bed rail. I've seen the top mounted without the no drill kit and it looks way better. Make sure when you order your lid that you also have them line the top with carpet, it looks way better than the chop fiberglass.

HTRDPUP,
We must be in the same clud of speed freaks! Gotta love it!

Looks great, much better than the sliding window. Easier to clean also.
I don't usually like tinted windows, but I must say it looks great on the back glass.
